Since I'm an expert at taking away wins from Weaver, why not add Haren too:

The Machine how did the Angels ever win the Series in 2002 with him at the helm?
Since then he has 5 Division les and a 10-19 playoff record to show for them.
2-5 series record, punked in 1st round 3Xs.
Unless Texas just collapses against the Sox and Rays the rest of the way, they should cruise to Division. You know any game leads the Angels have in head to head will bring on MultiSciosa to the rescue.
not a big fan of Scioscia, Fabbs?
Not just Scosia, but any MLB mngr who overly clings to the old macho bull notion that you must milk your starter who has worked his ass off and left you with either a shut out or a game lead one more inning.
Middle and end of game relief has been successfully utilized since Sparky Anderson did it with the Reds. Maybe before then, altho i think the 1960s still clung to the arm ruining notion.
If you care Axe, click on the game by game log for Weavs and check out Earned Runs allowed each game and compare with his record. Haren behind of course, but not all that much. Witness tonights game. He gave you 7 solid and to me looked very gassed by the end of 7. Bring in two relievers you ass Sciosa like all the successful mgrs do.
I've always been a big fan of the manager who lets his starters finish the inning. Obviously if the game is getting out of hand you take him out, but if he's in a jam and protecting a small lead I've always thought it's right to leave him in there and give him the chance to get out of it. Then you bring in the reliever the next inning
I'm gonna go ahead and assume that if Scioscia left Haren in the game and he gave up the lead himself, you would have posted the same thing.
Over 100 pitches, gave up two straight hits, Carp a lefty bat coming up and has been one of the better hitters for the Mariners in August, with Downs being one of the best lefty relievers in all of baseball all season long especially against lefty bats, and that was a questionable move?
Sometimes the right move, or the smarter move based on odds of the situation, doesn't yield a good result.
edit: I just read your other post. I guess you're more upset for him letting Haren go back out for the 8th. Sorry, disregard. My bad.
Angelswin.com. I tried to make a LOL Angels thread and was deleted within a minute. Noones allowed to troll in there unless your part of thier stupid click.
Making a "lol" thread is not proper behavior for a classy Angels fan.
Classiest fanbase in baseball.
good point there! i must stay classy when i venture that way.
Good win tonight..nice to have Beltre back.

told you people adams is good
Had great seats to the game tonight. Right in front of the broadcast booth.
And yes, it is great to have Beltre back. Perfect timing too with Cruz getting hurt.
Yep...hopefully we won't even drop our stride.
Kinsler 3 run bomb over the monstah!
5-0 Rangers. This one couldn't have started much better. Holland is gonna still face a tall task because Youki is back in the Sox lineup.
a Red Sox fan interfered with AGon on a foul ball in the first row. Would have ended the inning with the bases loaded and two outs. But Napoli goes on to walk and force in the 6th run.
thanks, fan!
If the Angels dont gain 2 games by Sept 8, the season is over. MARK MY WORDS!
even Andrus is hitting bombs over the monstah. 10-0 Rangers![]()
Leonys Martin gets a single in his major league debut.![]()
I think that might have been Holland's most impressive start of his career. Even more impressive than any of his several complete game shutouts this season. He just manhandled a potent Red Sox lineup like it was the Mariners.
Angels getting bent over right now by Minny, 7-2...might I be posting a picture of Julio Borbon later?
it..I'm calling it...
Will we get Koji Uehara tomorrow? Or maybe even Mitch Moreland?
...that was the worst game i had to sit through....but the kids had to see the fireworks. =P
