All they have to do to prevent BYU from joining is to say "Mormons, you are going to play on Sunday." Problem solved.
Not all private schools are secular. USC is private and non-secular.

No, BYU isn't being discriminated against. They're a bunch of nutty racist people. Discrimination was suspending that black guy from the basketball team for having sex with his girlfriend when god knows Jimmer Fredette has ed plenty of women during his collegiate career.
BYU needs a conference in the long run for a lot of reasons.
I think they know it. I think the b12 knows it.
They also already have their own TV deal with ESPN.
That plus automatic schedules in an AQ conference should be enticing enough to take whatever deal the b12 offers, imo

If that were true, adding UH or even Rice would be a no-brainer.
What are UH's chances?
Houston could be in a good situation - for the time being. UH is in a major metro area. It's a public school in Texas, which might work in its favor. But UH doesn't bring the same fan base or athletic revenues as A&M, and it doesn't add a media market since Houston already tunes in for the other Big 12 schools. So, in the long run, it might not add stability to a conference that badly needs some stable new members.

"We are SOOOO SICK of being little brother to UT that we will gladly take it up the ass from ANYONE in the SEC, just so we can tell everybody that we play in the S-E-C"
I guess tradtionalists think it's a first class fight song.
Personally, I think it reeks of severe inferiority complex and is hilarious as all .
"Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
And it's goodbye to A&M."
Soooo...what does THIS reek of?
It's one line. Not the whole song. And I think it's pretty fitting.
You're trying to imply that "Saaaaaaaaw Varsity's hoooOOOORNS OOOOOoooooff" doesn't look cool as at Kyle Field?
Funny story about that. It was the game after the bonfire tragedy and Aggy had just scored to go up. As you can imagine, it was pretty intense. Lots of emotion from Aggy. They start into that part of the song and do the sway. Longhorn fan is up in the top left corner at what was at that time the new part of the stadium. That mother- er started to move. You could see the fear on the Longhorn fans faces as all of us thought we were going to come crashing down. So while it does look pretty cool on tv, in real life up in the corner of your stadium, it ing sucks.

Yeah. I love how the commentators in the pressbox allude to the "great tradition at A&M" as the War Hymn commences, and then there's a distinct nervousness in their tone once the sway's underway...
A lame response to a lame song.

"Any place, any time."
Then play Texas on the LHN you bowtied pussy.
Aggie keeps altering quotes.
Why?
He didn't say "any network"

The member presidents of the Southeastern Conference unanimously voted to accept Texas A&M Tuesday night as the league's 13th member, but the Aggies' official acceptance has been delayed by the potential threat of legal action.
The SEC received written assurance from the Big 12 on Sept. 2 that it was free to accept Texas A&M as a member, Machen said.
