Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
According to the Tribune, BYU officials and representatives from the Big 12 have already met for discussions regarding "what conditions and assurances [BYU] would need to make the jump" to the soon-to-be Texas A&M-free conference......

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Makes sense. BYU already has it's own network which airs sporting events, and there are lots of Mormons all over the country, so the market is larger than just that of Provo, and BYU has had top-15 teams in both basketball and football within the last 5 years. They have an active fanbase, too.
Factor in that the Big-12 already has a religious ins ution in Baylor, so, they couldn't really say no on that only.
Unless they make a giant pitch to Notre Dame, its not gonna work out for the Big 12. Next year Oklahoma will jump to the Pac 12 and if Texas is smart they'll jump ship too.
Texas has no where to go but indy. They're just buying time for that, that's why if i'm teams like tech or mizzou who could be in limbo then I am actively trying to join a conference like the pac right now before Texas decides to blow it up... because it will happen eventually.

Larry Scott has said Texas cannot join with their network.
Notre Dame isnt coming.
The Pac 12 has a contract with ESPN......just like the Horns....
I'm sure they can figure something out if they really want.
He didn't really say that.
In DesignatedT's head Larry Scott has said that, and that's good enough for him.
Fox is also involved with the Pac12 network. I'm sure they could work something out sure... recreating the LHN to more of a regional network to coincide with the rest of the networks in the conference. Texas would have to agree to that and I don't see them doing that. No way Pac lets them in with the network being as it is now. They would have to change it dramatically and pretty much declare it a failure. ESPN might go for it if they aren't seeing a profit.
A regional network would not be a failure. YES! Network is a pretty valuable property. That's all just speculation though about the Pac-12.
Yall were saying?Citing that TV deal and its revenue-sharing model, Scott did say that Texas could not keep the Longhorn Network if it were to join the Pac-12.
"We're wedded to that model," Scott said, adding, "anyone who is going to be a member of our conference is going to be a part of our network model."
farther down in the article:
rampant speculation all over. However, a source told ESPN's Schad that Pac-12 officials believe the parties could work through Texas' network issues.
ND has already said it ain't happening.
Right. They would have to change their model to fit with the PAC. The idea is they'll be too arrogant to change it and go independent. I'm sure they'll compromise and go to the PAC with OU/OSU/TT but I really hope they end up indy.
I want Texas and OU in the Pac. It would be awesome. We might never make the Rose Bowl, but it would be great to be able to see USC, Texas, and Oklahoma on a regular basis.
Maybe nothing. I think they would be better off in the Pac-16 though. Going indy didn't work too well for Notre Dame did it?
I was saying he didn't say what you said.
You lied.
No big deal.
It wasn't me, it was DT. Try to keep up. And as he said, with their current network setup, they can't join the PAC.
All you emoAggies look alike to me.
No big deal.
All you sips look the same to me.

Since I'm not a UT fan, that sounds about right coming from emoAggie.
Wrong about everything and emo to boot.
Oh you just defend a team you don't care about at all and attack their rival. Got it.
I was right in this thread about the PAC-12 and the LHN. You were wrong. Following?
lol attack
You really are emo, dude. I've been laughing at your emo for weeks now.
I was laughing about LHN also because no one can legally watch it here, but you were too emo to notice and the UT fans weren't emo about it in their reactions.
Actually, I was right in saying your girlfriend lied. You said what should have been said by your girlfriend in the first place. You should keep your girlfriend in line, but that can't be expected of the emo, can it?I was right in this thread about the PAC-12 and the LHN. You were wrong. Following?
