20-14 A&M early in the 2nd quarter. SMU is playing them tough. June Jones is a great coach.

SMU would likely have the lead right now if it wasn't for the 2 early interceptions.

SMU shot themselves in the foot with the early turnovers and missing wide open receivers.

Zach Line should be getting more touches.

SMU is the best kick blocking team in the country. I almost don't mind A&M just keep scoring so I can see how many blocks SMU can rack up tonight.

I think it was our Special Teams sucking more than theirs being good.

Overall, it was a great game for us. Shut them out in the second half and our offense was very efficient.

Their RB, Line, was great. Their best player tonight, no doubt.

i remember the game last year in Lubbock SMU blocked atleast 2 of our FGs/extra points.

btw, what happened to McJunkin? was his injury serious? he was an old high school friend of mine. haven't talked to him in years

Teams were 8-for-21 on FG attempts vs SMU last season. The last time a team MADE more than one FG in a game vs SMU was in Nov 2009. The last time a team attempted more than one FG and had a 100% success rate was in Nov 2008.

It was not A&M. It was SMU. Margus Hunt has 12 blocked kicks for a reason. And he's not the only one doing it. SMU blocks kicks against everyone they play.

The thing you have to love about SMU is that they go all out to block every single kick, no matter how meaningless it might seem. And they don't stop after the kick is blocked. They go after the ball and try to make something happen, even on PATs. So many other college and NFL teams just watch the PAT like it's a given. It's not. You don't get 7 points for a TD. You get 6. You have to earn the extra point, and damnit, SMU makes you earn it. I can count a handful of games the last two seasons that SMU has won due to a blocked kick.

I really don't know how serious the injury is. I'm gonna scope ponyfans.com and try to find out.

I'm not sure. We all thought he was going to come back in. Someone pointed out he was injured but then he hopped right up.. then as he was walking toward the sideline he just fell to the ground. Hope he's alright.

I didn't know all that. Those are some really impressive stats. I'm glad to hear it wasn't us.

defense was shaky against the run in the first half but then they went to putting an extra 2 in the box and that pretty much shut down SMU after that. 2 picks and 8 sacks are nice stats and the total yards for 2nd half was solid.

offense was in cruise control and dominated. tannehill was sharp and gray and michael were as good as advertised. fuller can rest his hamstring now with the bye before toledo, which should be one more glorified scrimmage before the big one against okie state.

FYI, you might be interested to know that SMU blocked another kick tonight. Margus Hunt. Same beast that blocked A&M. This time it was a FG attempt just before the end of the first half. And I couldn't tell, but I think he may have tipped another one earlier in the quarter. He is not stoppable.

He could make it to the NFL solely on his ability to block kicks. And when he came to SMU, he didn't even know what football was.

There was some guy last season wearing a shirt that had Margus Hunt on it and said "I must block you." I want one of those.

It's funny because he really isn't good on defense. I laughed when I saw him in coverage on a play last night. But my god, that dude is unblockable on kicks. How can a guy come to the US, never have played football before college, and suddenly be a legit NFL prospect in a matter of two years?!

psssst....another blocked FG for Margus Hunt tonight. Ties the NCAA record.
