big 12 even with Texas and OU right now isn't looking particularly appealing these days, especially after losing nebraska
unless they somehow kept OU and Texas, then added BYU, ND, and either TCU or Houston (or both, and extended to 16 teams, all of which is highly unlikely) Big 12 is done.

Why does everyone keep saying OU is pissed about the lhn? There not the want there own network. OU is not pissed at ut at all, they look at the big 12 without nu or a&m and can see a possibility of being left out of a nc game even when going undefeated, and want to act before that can ever happen.
The message from OU is simple make the b12 strong again or we are gone.

It wouldn't have to be the end, but it's certainly not going to be a better option than the SEC or the Pac would be for A&M, OU and OkSt.Also, B12 network, attempts to make the conference stronger & more compe ive, etc. Losing Texas would hurt no doubt, but it wouldn't necessarily have to be the end of the B12.
It's only a contradiction if you believe that the big 12 minus texas is a worthwhile conference to be in. I don't.

If OU and UT stick together in this b12 lite, then the other 8-10 teams are obviously irrelevant to TV contracts and AQ status.

as of right now, the Big 12 with both Texas and OU isnt a better conference to be in than the SEC
especially if being in the SEC means you are virtually guaranteed to win 100% of your non-conference home games, and you are spotted undeserved rankings simply because you play in the conference led SEC
unfortunately, aggie wont benefit from any of this, as they are simply going to be doormats 95% of the time, as they were in the Big 12.
