Something had to be wrong with him...I really don't think he would have taken him out just to bring in the setup man after how he had been destroying us with such few pitches.

If the score stays 3-2, I'd say Balfour should be the first winning pitcher from a losing team.

Especially since it would mean clinching at home. I am going to the home finale on Sunday. But if the magic number is down to 1 at the end of tomorrow, then I'm gonna get tickets for Friday. Or Saturday if it is then. I just hope we get to clinch with a win rather than an Angels loss later in the night.

time for some playoff roster speculation

    here is mine

    Lineup

    Kinsler-2B
    Andrus-SS
    Hamilton-CF
    Young-DH
    Beltre-3B
    Cruz-RF
    Murphy-LF
    Napoli-C
    Moreland-1B

If they see a need to have additional right hand batters, they can put Napoli at 1B and Torrealba at C. Have Gentry and Chavez also available for depth and PR.

    Starting Pitching

    Wilson
    Harrison
    Holland
    Lewis

I think they should always try to use Colby for road games, because with his tendency to give up homers, pitching at the Temple isn't exactly ideal. Plus he has experience in the playoffs and it was overshadowed due to the presence of Cliff Lee, but Colby was actually the Rangers best pitcher in last years playoffs. Hopefully he can regain that form.

    Bullpen

    Ogando
    Tateyama
    Oliver
    Gonzalez
    Uehara
    Adams
    Feliz

If a starting pitcher needs to be pulled early, insert Tateyama or Ogando.

Use Oliver and Gonzales specifically as left hand specialists.

Uehara, Ogando, and Adams rotate as 7th and 8th inning specialists.

    Feliz to shut the door.

Everything rests on the shoulders of Colby and Holland. If they both can consistently make it through 6 innings without allowing the game to get out of reach, I like the Rangers chances at postseason success...

i swear, Colby Lewis is the only guy in the league who can find a way to give up a ing homer to a skinny ass, 150 lb chump like Jemile Weeks. he drives me insane....

The way Holland is pitching, he could potentially become our #2 starter. I'd prefer him to be further down, but he's our 2nd best pitcher going right now behind CJ.
