Yawn. Even Dan MF'n Issel damn near scored 20ppg when he was 35. With the new rules that are designed to boost scoring, TD still couldn't muster even 15ppg. Pathetic.![]()
OK, all jokes to the side. What is actually funny about having HIV? I fail to see the humor in it.
Back on topic: defend the greatest PF of all time come up short when compared to his peers when they laced them up at the same age.![]()
Why couldn't he play more than 28mpg? Why didn't other teams keep their 35 year old star players minutes at 28mpg![]()
Here's how important your list is:
Malone never won a championship, but his numbers are good. He was known for faltering in the playoffs.
Self explanatory after that (to people born after the third trimester).
Red herring (means it doesn't ing matter).
mpg or shut the up
This thread is not about championships - I didn't even put Russell up there. Look deeper into why this thread exists. You can do it if you really try.![]()
When tragedy befalls a stain Laker, it's always funny.
If I was in Utah, you bet your ass I would've been one of the people making fun of Derek Fisher's one eyed daughter.
So then PPG has nothing to do with winning championships.

Stay classy, Spur fan.![]()
Baylor: Not a big man.
Hayes played in a much weaker era.
Ewing played 26 games that year.
Dream shot 48%, which is poor for an NBA center.
Barkley shot 48% and played 36 minutes a game. He also doesn't play any defense.
Wilt. Weak era.
Lol Dan Issel. 6.8 boards a game and a defender.
I won't take anything away from Kareem and Malone. But Duncan's stats aren't much of a deviation from the other players. I know your re ed brain immediately focused in on PPG, without considering shooting percentage, pace of the era, the system the player is in, or how good they play defense, but in reality, Duncan is still a very capable big at 35, just as capable as any big to ever play the game at that age aside from Kareem and Malone.
You guys said his PER was still good commensurate with the amount of minutes he played. You guys said y'all were saving him for the playoffs. Let's go beyond points and look at his last playoff series as a Spur:
12 ppg
10 rpg
2.8apg
2.6bpg
Not bad for a 35 year old, but not up to the standards set by his peers.![]()
How many of those guys have a FIBA bronze medal?

No, we said he was old and was retiring after this season.
You just weren't paying attention.
Welcome to now.
Blah Blah Blah. All of their numbers trump TD's at the same age. You mean to tell me Wilt couldn't put up 13/8 in this era? What about Ewing? Dream? Parish? McHale? Dream?
TD has NO excuse for being a tired old bag when there are only like 3 good big men in today's NBA.![]()
There were two dreams?
Yeah, the great standard the Dream set as a 35 year old when he shot .394 in the playoffs? Or how about the one Ewing set at the same age shooting .357 in the playoffs?
If there is no NBA season and TD retires, the Spurs are DONE. Pop talked when Shaq was traded - saying some like it was equivalent to Russia breaking (something like that). The Lakers missed the playoffs once, had a few 1st round exits, then rang twice A.S. (after Shaq). Their championship window is still open. Can you say the same will happen with the Spurs A.D.?![]()
