dallas had none championship squad that year you dumb , dirk was the only reliable player and he carried the team to the finals single-handedly. after dem mavs won the first two games the refs took it over and cost us 4 games in a streak which wasn't at all avery's fault imho, mavs just got robbed by biased officiating & horse shots
anyway it ain't nothing like blewing up a 15pt lead in the last 6 minutes & losing the game & losing the series while having 2 of the leagues top 5 players plus a top10 player tbh

No single player in history carried a team to the Finals. There are many other factors involved. Sure Dirk was the best player on the team, but you act like no one else on the team was even NBA quality. By that token, I guess that MJ's Bulls weren't a championship caliber squad, since he carried them.
Avery couldn't coach women's basketball. He inherited the fruits of Don Nelson's labor. He was given the CotY for it, and subsequently released. Rick Carlisle came in, allowed J-Kidd to be himself and Dallas now has a ring.

spurs were da best bball team through 05-07 the mavs were just a nightmare matchup who cost them their championship run in 06. heat & mavs made the finals that year, the 1st time for both teams to make the NBA finals, but neither team was championship caliber. the 06' was bound be an undeserved award whoever won it, the mavs led the series after 2 games things really looked good to them at the moment, but the refs then started to rig the games and handed the trophy to the heat. i ain't saying the mavs would've been the deserved winner that year, dem mavs were better then heat at least.

dirk carried those sorry s to the finals so even if the team was truly c'ship caliber it was the german allah who made the team "championship caliber". the mavs were better than heat but even if the mavs won it that year the 06 champs would've still been the weakest NBA champs of the past whole decade, tbh
