...climbed down out of the attic.

Warren Buffett Does Not Endorse WH's "Buffett Rule"

    (video at the link)

CNBC: "Are you happy that the way it is being described. Is the program that the White House has presented a million dollars and over your program? "

Warren Buffett: "Well, the precise program which will -- I don't know what their program will be. My program would be on the very high incomes that are taxed very low. Not just high incomes. Somebody making $50 million a year playing baseball, his taxes won't change. Make $50 million a year appearing on television, his income won't change. But, if they make a lot of money and pay a very low tax rate, like me, it would be changed by a minimum tax that would only bring them up to what other people pay."

CNBC: "Does that mean you disagree with the president's new jobs proposal which would be paid for by raising taxes on households with incomes of over $250,000."

Buffett: "That's another program that I won't be discussing. My program is to have a tax on ultra-rich people who are very tax rates. Not just all rich people. It would probably apply to 50,000 people in a population of 300 million."

Why do people give complete support to a party concerning EVERY topic, like they're infallible. It's intellectual bankruptcy and I don't understand it. Is there a term for this that I haven't heard of? Yoni, you're nothing more than a drone.

I concur. The problem with both parties is they want to take credit for anything that helps and the GOP will not support ANYTHING right now because it will help Obama and well, McConnell and the weeper of the House will have nothing to do with that.

Not "just like Obama." Obama also wants all those millionaires and billionaires, making $250,000.00 and over, to fall under the "Buffett Rule."

You the one that can't read. Buffet opposes that idea and, frankly, sound a bit miffed his name is being attached to such a program.

The Truth Behind Eric Cantor’s Breitbarting of Warren Buffett

Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) is leading the charge to protect the rich. This morning, Cantor uploaded a CNBC video on his You Tube page (yes, he has one) he led, “Warren Buffet Seems To Disagree With President Obama’s “Buffet Rule” (that’s Buffett, Eric). This is, of course, not at all what happened.

In fact, Buffett knocked down the GOP’s business uncertainty meme before he repeatedly said he supported what President Obama is trying to do, and that he would need to read the actual bill before commenting on said bill. Doh.

That didn’t stop Cantor’s communication director from tweeting: “Tough day for the White House – Warren Buffett not so much a fan of President Obama’s Buffett Rule. Yeeesh”

This naturally set off an orgasmic frenzy on the right, with the RNC leading the way on Twitter: “Warren Buffett Not So Keen On ‘Buffett Rule’” under the hashtag of #Obamanomics. (The grown ups are apparently out for the day.) The National Review, The Daily Caller, the DC Examiner and more are jumped on this meme faster than Joe Wilson screaming, “You lie!” Each headline getting progressively farther from the truth, until the DC Examiner’s headline fell on the sword of lies: “Buffett doesn’t support Obama’s ‘Buffett Rule’”

Once again we have to debunk these boys, but there’s a treat in store for you this time. While Sorkin was trying to get Buffett to say he didn’t agree with the President’s plan, Buffett managed to kill the GOP’s “uncertainty” meme along with explaining that he supports people like himself paying their fair share of taxes. Ouch. Because Buffett wouldn’t comment on something he hadn’t yet read, the Republicans decided he must not support it.

    This is called projection.

I think he was pointing out that Obama is unreasonable in the way he wants to tax, and Buffett is pissed about the Obama administration calling his taxation "The Buffett Rule."

Buffett says he chooses not to discuss it and Yoni takes that to mean he is taking a stance on it.

    Makes sense right?

Buffett made it clear he is talking about earnings outside of normal income that falls under the normal tax tables.

Do you just talk out of your asshole? The 'Buffet Rule' specifically says that it will tax anyone making $1M a year at a minimum tax rate (to account for people who take advantage of the carried interest loophole). Please explain to me how someone making $250k - $999,999 will fall under the Buffett Rule.

    He neither agrees or disagrees.

    What does

That's another program that I won't be discussing.
    mean?

He will not say one way or another. What he talks about are the programs he has proposed not about what other s have proposed.

I did. Do you have a comprehension issue?

Buffett clearly indicated by the way he worded it he doesn't agree with a income point at which you apply the minimum tax rate. He did so by excluding entertainment personalities. He said "But, if they make a lot of money and pay a very low tax rate, like me, it would be changed by a minimum tax that would only bring them up to what other people pay."

Him saying he won't talk about the other program to me means he will not waste his time on it other proposals. It clearly isn't his idea since he clearly excluded baseball players and TV personalities are excluded.

You honestly don't know what you're talking about, just like Yoni. The 'Buffett Rule' is a specific proposal that will effectively eliminate the carried interest tax loophole which applies to people make <$1M per year of unearned income.

In addition to the Buffett Rule, Obama is proposing to let the bush income tax cuts expire on people making over $250k per year in order to pay for the jobs bill he's pedaling, which Mr. Buffett said he would not comment on as the bill has not been crafted.

You, like Yoni, talk out of your asshole because you're uninformed.

Their taxes won't change because these are income taxes which are currently taxed at 36%. The Buffet rule addresses unearned income. That is the buffett rule, which he appears to agree with.

Obama has also proposed letting the income tax cuts expire on those making $250k+ per year. That would affect the baseball player/television star. That is what Buffet said he would not comment on as the bill has not been crafted.

    This is not difficult.

    Agreed.

Very simple if you ask me.
