I'm all for closing these cases.
Spokeswoman for African-Americans, Sherri Shepherd, has ruled on proper use of the N word. I think we can consider the matter closed.

In the 'Hot Topics' segment on "The View" this morning, the ladies discussed a Washington Post story about a rock with the word "######head" written on it at the gated entrance of a hunting camp leased and frequented by Rick Perry and his father.
Host Barbara Walters used the n-word while explaining the story, causing co-host Sherri Shepherd to take offense. Shepherd says she didn't like the way Barbara Walters said it. However, Shepherd was okay with Whoopi Goldberg, the main host of "The View," using it. Shepherd explained herself:
"When I heard you (Whoopi) say it, it was fine. You said it a different way. When I heard you (Barbara) say it, I didn't like the way you said it. Because when you say it, you say [inaudible]. And I don't like [inaudible]," Shepherd said.
This left Barbara Walters confused and wanted to know the proper way to say the n-word. However, Shepherd told Walters there is no right way for her to say it.
Walters said the n-word once in the segment while Whoopi Goldberg used the word nearly a dozen times.
I'm all for closing these cases.

It would have been funny as if Barbara then would have said it in a big black voice.
Barbara should have tried her best "Yessum massa" voice there.
I remember being at a house party and there was a circle of people "freestyle rapping" on one side of the room. I was at the table pouring a drank and this drunk white dude comes up to me and asks me if I mind if he says the N-word in one of his raps. I was like :
He was like, "I'm not racist, bro. I just want to use it in a rhyme." I told him it wouldn't be wise to say it. I didn't know many people there and I wasn't going to be responsible for him getting his ass whooped.
Sons as a zebra I can tell you that black people talk out of both sides of their mouth more than anyone else. They are by far more racist (especially towards Asians) and are extremely phobic.

its an offensive slur only when you put together the exact 6 letters and use it as one single word
another example the word "ass" when used by itself is a bad one and is never used in mainstream but some combined words such as "jackass" and "badass" are fine and have been used in mainstream talkshows.
