    victory was sweet

but it was exponentially sweeter that it was Valverde who got the loss.

even better, him and Benoit both should be pretty worn down for tomorrow after pitching 2 innings each.

Moot point. Verlander is pitching tomorrow and is due for a strong game. Unless CJ Wilson plays way way way over his head, Rangers don't have a chance in tomorrow. Then this series goes back to Texas but the Tigers will have momentum and win in 7. I am not sold on the Rangers. Bull doesn't last forever.

This is some ing bull ! Rangers scoring 4 runs off Valverde? The series isn't over yet. Verlander is due for a strong game tomorrow, and CJ Wilson can't and won't match him. I still like the Tigers in this series.

    GOOD!

The Tigers have to win this series. The Rangers starting pitching isn't all that great. You don't win in the playoffs with average starting pitching all the way around. I don't care how stacked your bullpen is, you need the complete package.

I think the Rangers starters have just enough to get by because of their powerful bullpen and offense. CJ is due for a great game but he does have me nervous. It'd be nice to win in front of home fans but they need to close this out now!

If they get out of this inning without giving up a run I'd love to see them win this on that got Valverde... would be nice.
    Good call.

I was thinking Leyland went full re on that. I don't think Beltre's got a hit since he got hurt..he's just out of it right now, and you give him a free base, and allow Napoli, the guy who's hit better than anyone in the league since July, AND our hottest batter in Cruz get up to the plate? WTF was he thinking?

With the state of Detroit's offense and their health, Texas has enough to get by in this series.

Detroit's SP has been good but unless their offense makes an appearance, it's over.

Not so sure if the Rangers hot pitching will carry over into the World Series though. Let's not act like this series couldn't be 2-2..or even 3-1 Detroit right now
Could be...but it's not. It's the little things that win..the clutch, timely hits, and bullpen pitching that has won these games..and the same thing wins games in the World Series. When the two best teams in the league are playing in the WS, they're usually pretty close in talent, leaving it to those little things to win..and the Rangers are doing it.

    MVP MVP MVP

The monster hits back to back 11th inning homers in back to back games to give the Rangers two straight 7-3 leads...love it.
