Apple Shares Slide Into Warm Bath of Sadness
    http://blogs.wsj.com/marketbeat/2011.../?mod=yahoo_hs

Apple shares are down 1.7% at last check, below $370, as the company today introduced the iPhone 4S, the kissing-your-sister version of what many had hoped – nay, expected – would be the iPhone 5.

Gizmodo and others had warned an iPhone 5 probably wasn’t coming, but supposedly there was “tepid applause” from the spectators in the Apple prayer meeting iPhone event just now when the words “iPhone 4S” were spoken instead of “iPhone 5.”

iOS 5 rollout marred by issues for users all over the world

The big, feature-laden iOS 5 update finally hit the iTunes App Store yesterday, but it didn’t have an entirely smooth birth.

Lots of users complained of issues trying to upgrade to the new mobile operating system, which seems to have partially stemmed from the demand for iOS 5 taxing Apple’s servers as it attempts to distribute the new software. The most common error suffered by users was Error 3200, which Apple reps were telling users was a result of so many users all over the world pinging Apple for the update at the same time, according to Mashable.

But the problems didn’t just end with not being able to connect to Apple’s servers and download the new iOS software. Some users ran into more serious issues, such as the upgrade stalling and devices being wiped of their apps, music, photos and other data. From the outcry on Twitter, it seems like many users had their devices hit pretty hard by the update, and some were even seemingly unusable for a short time.

But all is not lost, it seems, even if you’ve had iOS 5 temporarily brick your device. Plugging your device back into iTunes, as PCWorld points out, should pretty much solve the issue when the device starts syncing. Apple’s software recognizes that your device is blank and starts filling things back in from your last backup. And because iTunes backs up your iPhone every time you plug it in, it shouldn’t be too hard to restore it to the condition it was in just a little while ago. If it doesn’t happen automatically, you can click “Restore from Backup” or just the “Sync” button to get the process going.

iPhone iOS 5 upgrades: serious headaches

Apple customers are not happy after having problems upgrading to the new version of the iPhone’s mobile operating system, iOS 5, on Wednesday.

Taking to Twitter, Facebook and Apple’s support forums, users reported that their phones and tablets had been wiped — or worse, bricked. So many people were having problems with the update that the upgrading error message, “error 3200,” nabbed a spot as a worldwide trending topic on Twitter.

Hater, it's just a server problem

Everybody rushed to download iOS 5, because it'S so popular, don't hate

Of course, there are only 3 Android users worldwide, so servers outage has never been an issue

The weird thing is that I DLed IOS 5 as soon as it was released, no problem, but those who choose to wait ran into the 3200 error; what a bunch of s

iPhone iOS 5 Sucks And We Have Valid Reasons

iMessage – We already have such apps
iMessage feature won the battle for being “numero uno” feature is just a gimmick. Through the feature an iOS 5 user can send free messages to other users. The feature is already provided by many IM apps and just like Facetime you will find it sitting on your iPhone and eating a lot of memory. Luckily iOS 4.3 users are shielded from this poor feature.

Name is iCloud not James Bond
iCloud closely comes in after iMessage in being a useless feature of iOS 5. The feature aims at wirelessly synching up data and apps on all iOS held devices. There could be instances where you won’t want data to be viewed on all iOS devices held by a user but one. This could leak out sensitive user information if it is stored on iCloud. Currently, you can delete a private video from your iPhone but imagine with iCloud the MMS is saved in the cloud waiting to reveal your dark side.

Camera on Lock Screen – Confusion Oriented
Users are bound to get confused with this feature on iOS 5. You might end up placing taps on camera in pre-text of hitting the lock/unlock swipes.

    No Flash Support
The web world has not become Apple friendly even after Apple realigned from Flash support in 2009-10. Their OS and products do not identify Flash at all.
If you think that the above mentioned reasons are not valid then you can give your own opinion, but we really don’t care.

I am no apple lover but the criticism of icloud is just stupid. As far as the camera on lockscreen, I am confused by the criticism. Is it saying that you might take a picture when you are trying to unlock the screen? If so, that is another stupid criticism. I do agree with the first and last, however the former isn't really being touted by Apple that heavily, so I dont see this as their usual "look at this magical feature which we invented that all other phones have had for a year". The latter, is stupid, but not surprising.

edit:I am not saying that icloud is a magical experience or anything, just that this particular criticism is dumb.

    Flash? WGAF, it's slowly dying

Camera confusion: another ty argument; unless the user is really re ed, I don't see how it can be confusing

iMessage is actually better than your regular messaging app; if you send a message to a contact who has iOS 5 it will treat it as an iMessage, and not an SMS
If the other person is already in your contact and has iOS 5, why bother to have that same person in - let's say - Whatsapp MEssenger?
It's much more simple that way
