    that's ing awesome

anyway, glad we pulled this one out. This felt like the world series games in San Francisco last year. Good pitching + a couple of bad breaks = our offense completely folding but we hung around and made the most of the few opportunities we had.

and then Cruz made sure that the fans' drive from the ballpark to their house was a quiet one i saaaiiiiddddd

Definitely felt like we were going to be on the short end of the stick in this game, and that would have sucked, being tied, with Verlander starting Game 5. But we stuck it out, and with Cruz's arm and Napoli and Cruz's bat, we finally got Valverde's number...loved to see us get the win with him on the mound.

However, as good as Napoli, Genrty, and Beltre have been so far, Young, Cruz, and Hambone all need to step up. But I guess that's the beauty of the Rangers... there really isn't a truly weak link in the lineup. Cruz has probably been the weakest link; but we all know how deadly he can be. It would be really nice to wake him up, as it seems he frequently comes up to bat with guys on base, and just strikes the out.

Tigers are too injured to hang with the obviously better team in the Rangers.

No Boesch, no Avila, no Martinez, no Ordonez off the bench, no Young.

Just not enough in the lineup to hang with the very deep offense that Texas features.

I knew this series was over after the Tigers failed to get the split in Texas. That hasnt changed. Congrats Texas.

BTW, that was the absolute weakest attempt by a Cabrera trying to come home on the sac fly by Young. It was really pathetic to watch.

tbh i was genuinely shocked when Cruz tossed the ball back that he wasn't anywhere near home.

I think field conditions made base running a little harder. it seemed like most people were having a hard time taking bases they normally could take.

Just outa curiosity, why is there talk of Texas making Feliz a starter next year? Yeah he was shakier in the regular season this year than he was last year but he was still good and he's been great so far in the playoffs. It seems like a stupid gamble to make him a starter and replace him with at closer with someone who's untested in October.

I haven't heard anything from the organization on this, just fan speculation. But I think it's a dumb idea. He's a lockdown closer, and has publicly stated he would prefer to stay in that role. Keep him there. A trio of Ogando, Adams, and him to close out games is pretty damn scary.

Yeah in addition to his replacement not being a sure thing at all as the new closer he wouldn't be a sure thing as a starter. I don't know much about baseball but closer to starting pitcher actually seems like an extremely hard transition to make from a mental and physical standpoint.

And considering his array of pitches is about as versatile as a Mumford and Sons album, the closing role mos def suits him best. Just overpower hitters w/ his fastball, and be done with it.

As an aside, I was ing THRILLED to see Young and Napoli finally get goin in this series. Hopefully, that double that Young hit wakes him up a bit. A tall order to keep it goin against Verlander, but we'll see. Young's a hitter. Always has been. The fact that he wasn't even LOOKING to bunt to advance the runner in front of him was simply more evidence of that.

Verlander shmerlander. Yankees had best record in AL. One pitcher against all of our bats. Leland said today that Benoit and Valverde are wiped out. We should close it out today. Either way, we're not losing 3 straight.

Just wait. Verlander is gonna bring fire tonight. I still expect the Tigers to lose the series though in 6.

Only thing on fire will be our bats. They're all waking up at the right time. Don't have too much faith in CJ though. Should be good either way. May the best Texas team win .

yeah people thought that last year when the Rangers were facing David Price in Tampa for the clinching game, after Price had a bad 1st game against them.

    dumbass

point is, aces can be beaten. Verlander has been incredibly beatable so far in the postseason.

I wouldn't be suprised at all if Detroit wins, and they should. But I definitely won't count Texas out, as they have had no trouble beating aces in the postseason the past two years (except Lince , although they torched him in game 1, Lee just happened to get torched worse)

Between the Hanzo Sword whoring and constant updates on his kid that nobody gives a about, I'm not sure how he has time to watch baseball.
