I used to listen to KISS, but it was back when joe anthony was on
Radio must really be struggling these days. KLBJ here in Austin cancelled the Charlie Hodge Halftime Show (ran from 10a-2pm), which I found hilarious and had a pretty good cult following, because apparently ratings weren't cutting it.
I started listening to them when they were only KMAC on AM.
i havent listened in years, were they still funny? or is this another motive
Radio stations quality has been going down for years, and it doesn't help that they can their formats and have internet compe ion.
Also doesn't help that radio stations seem to have a rotation of about 30 songs these days. With KISS, it was Metallica or Rush that they seemed to have to play once an hour; with KLBJ it's Ozzy.
Damn that sucks. I just listened to their last podcast and nothing about today's show made it seem like it was going to be their last one. I know it's not the greatest show on the planet but it was local and had a San Antonio flair to it so it's why I tuned in.
As for KISS the station, it's a pile of garbage. All of these radio stations are being replaced by the Pandoras, Spotifys of the world.
Next step----The Sonny online network.
They ended it once before as well. Not sure who recalls, but they sat atop a billboard and protested or something like that.
I remember turning on KISS (I think) and hearing classical music or some oldies or some bull like that about 20 or so years ago. That was a hard day.
They cancelled them before and then brougth them back. I assume they will do it again.
sry, they sucked. as a matter of fact, all SA morning shows stink.
Hahn's Ask Yolanda bit was hilarious.
I read the MYSA article, and they said the ratings were strong. I guess there just isn't much money in radio any more. Oh well, at least I have a free preset button in my cars now. The morning show was all I listened to.
And that kid crapass in the morning on 96.1 still has a show
No way, they cancelled Charlie hodge??! Dude was hilarious.
I wonder if it's cheaper to put locals on the payroll or to pay for a syndicated show like Kidd Krad .
Nothing is worse than Xavier on the Beat, nothing
So you listen to Xavier?
I'm in the entertainment business. It's wise to listen to what the moron compe ion is doing. It's sickening to be honest.
Why would these two dudes kiss each other to end their show?
Cheaper for that syndicated piece of crap show
lowest common denominator for the lowest common denominator
Maybe Tim Merriman will act quickly and get them to do late night radio on WOAI.
I don't think I can handle another 4 hour show on Moth Man. (especially after its another repeat of the same show the day before)
Late night radio in San Antonio has only three stations. .....
5500 KTSA is 24/7 Obama sucks, kinda gets old after 5 minutes.
760AM Sports (like you don't get enough sports all day long)
And WOAI 1200 which always happens to have at least 40 rednecks calling in each night saying they saw Bigfoot or another UFO while fishing and camping last week
That's when they are not doing a show on some man who claims there is an exact opposite of each one of us on another planet doing exactly the opposite of what we are doing now.
I emailed WOAI and said why not a local show for two hours talk about evolution/Bible/911 etc....anything is better than 4 hours of son of Moth Man.
