Port your San Antonio number to google voice (so you can keep it), get the oklahoma number and attach it to your google voice account (when people call your GV number you can tell it to ring your OK number). That way, as far as everyone else knows, you still have the same number, but you don't. As far as the rest of the stuff, sorry that sucks.
but what about for texting? ive never used google voice and dont know anything about it, so im simply ignorant here.

Ah, ok, not really my cup of tea. I try to support the devs of the apps that I use. In fact some of the roms that I put on my phone have adblocker preinstalled and I disable it right away.

I don't want to see ads, but if that is how an app developer decided to set up his business plan, far be it from me to shut that down.

i was just saying it is an option. i have hacked my phone twice, but I always end up going back to stock. there are plenty of app sales, and I rarely spend more than .99 except for cyclemeter pro, which was $4.99. but it has been well worth that to be able to track my rides by GPS, and it has tons of awesome features.

People can text your GV number, it would come through on the GV app (does apple have this??). There may be a way to have it forward the texts to your OK number, but I don't know. The biggest concern is that GV has not had the capability to process MMS's, they do now, but they are rolling it out carrier by carrier. Sprint is the first and they just rolled it out to us. You have 2 options, if someone wants to send you an MMS, you can have them send it to your email, or give them the OK number.

Also, do you really think that you are going to use 2 GB of data on a 3.5 in screen at 3g speeds?

    gotcha

and no, i probably wont. i just think its incredibly y that they cant pull some strings and let me keep it since i have been with them for such a long time. i think its much more aggravating, because the person i spoke with it about was being a total , and i was right on the cusp of still making the change and everything, but she kept being a jerk, so i just walked out on her, and she had to put the phone that she got for me back together and undo all the changes she had made to the accounts.

if i already have to do stupid like this, at least treat your customer well.

I would try calling them, explain your predicament calmly, and see what they can do. If they won't, climb the ladder.

Mention sprint, or verizon, but not T-Mobile.

however i have run into an incredibly bull situation with AT&T

i am currently on a family plan that i have had with my parents for over 10 years, however my parents no longer want to remain with AT&T

my intention is to jump off theirs and onto my wifes family plan that she has with her sisters with AT&T.

unfortunately, since she is was from Oklahoma, and the account originated there, they said that i will have to get a new phone number (with an Oklahoma area code), and cannot keep the special features that i was allowed to keep because i was a longtime customer (unlimited data), and will have to drop down to the 2GB limit.

    what a bunch of bull
oh that's horsecrap. So you can't get your wife to drop her plan and join you? Losing unlimited data would be a dealbreaker for me.

And uh why are they dropping AT&T when certain members of certain families work in a certain place called AT&T?

for the line and 2GB data plan, it will be an extra $35, plus the other little taxes/fees. they already have an unlimited family texting plan.

she just started her new plan, but i guess its a possibility.

then again, i went through several of my past months usage charts, and never came close to 2GB. but that may also be due to the fact that i dont use my phone that much because its a piece of . but after thinking about it more, i probably wouldnt go over the limit ever because the main places i go to regularly all have wi-fi that i can use. its just annoying that they cant work with a long-time customer.

And uh why are they dropping AT&T when certain members of certain families work in a certain place called AT&T?
because the certain family member who works there, his wife never uses her phone so they feel its a waste of money.

you'd keep your unlimited and create more work for someone at at&t (and apple) deactivating and reactivating phones. or they could just accommodate you right then and there. based on your previous experience it sounds like they might not do it, but what the .

but it is the most civil apple v android debate on this site. Well, until now, hater baited lefty, lefty just took the bait the post before yours, so this moment in time is where it will go downhill.

btw as I mentioned I helped my girl get a 4s. Iphone still has a place in the world such as a woman's or a baby boomer's hand.

US becoming more like Canada regarding cell phone plans

All you need are standard 3 year contracts instead of 2 year and random standard 'government' fees added to your bill and you're set.
