hardcore baseball fans are more dedicated to their team than any other pro sport in America, tbh. But baseball doesn't have the widespread appeal of NBA/NFL.
Is the NBA still the #2 professional league in this country or has MLB passed it? I have ran into numerous people (black, white, hispanic etc...) who didn't even know the NBA was going through a lockout right now. I'm also not seeing much coverage on the lockout on ESPN, which is odd considering how much attention the NFL got with their lockout. Now, dont get me wrong, I understand the NFL is (and always will be) king and the MLB World Series is going on right now, but during the Rangers/Rays series I saw people literally crying in the stands after the Rays lost their game. I just don't see that in any NBA playoff game after a loss. Am I missing something?

son the NBA has never been ahead of MLB and after the lockout hopefully they will fall behind the NHL too.
This. I live in Dallas. The rangers fans are diehards. But they way smaller in number than Mavs or Cowboys fans. Even with the recent winning.
