No, pleases none of that undersized and bull power forward. Use Tiago Splitter or sign a good PF.
How do the minutes spread out next year with the roster as it currently is?
With the departure of Hill we'll see Anderson get playing time at SG, I'm sure Neal will also be playing some PG, Manu's playing time may decrease as well. Hopefully RJ's minutes will decrease A LOT more so Kawhi can get PT. Dice will probably get very little minutes this year as well opening up more minutes for Splitter (Hopefully we can see him starting!).
Leonard is a pretty versatile player, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets PT at PF like Pop did with RJ his first year. IMO Leonard is more suited to play PF because of his length, defensive ability, great rebounding, he has a post game, as well as really good size, he's 6'7 and said he's gained 15lbs making him 240lbs.

This is a Gregg Popovich coached team; there will be small ball (and Bonner ball) whether they sign a PF or not.
Do we know if Dice is even going to be playing or not? He never declined on his option, did he?
I'm guessing the distribution will be
Duncan - 0 minutes
Ginobili - 0 minutes
Parker - 0 minutes
Bonner - 0 minutes
- 0 minutes
Splitter - 0 mintues![]()
In fairness, the OP said "next year", not "this season".
I do not think we will see Dice again on the court ... lockout or not
I don't know for the others but
Bonner 32 mn
Splitter 5 mn
In the majority of compe ive games (non blowouts) . . .
Duncan: 30 mpg/Blair: 18 mpg
Jefferson: 30 mpg/Anderson: 18 mpg
Splitter: 26 mpg/Bonner: 22 mpg
Ginobili: 34 mpg/Neal: 14 mpg
Parker: 36 mpg/Neal: 12 mpg
There's the perception that Leonard will be replacing Hill, but really Neal will be replacing Hill, as the sixth man/third guard and Anderson will be replacing Neal, as the eighth or ninth man/fifth perimeter player.
It's difficult to play 10 players regularly and Leonard would appear to be the odd man out. I suspect, aside from injuries or blowouts, we'll see Leonard primarily against elite wing scorers and as a small ball four, when teams go small.
I'd be surprised if Jefferson and/or Blair aren't gone though. But even if Jefferson is replaced, I'd still say a 30/18 split is likely. And if they acquire a starting four, then look for whoever it is to take Splitter's minutes and for Splitter to take Blair's.
Bolded = Wishful Thinking
Not really. Take Bonner's minutes from the past three seasons and it's clear to see the range of minutes he'll play: 20-24. All I've done is said he'll play roughly in the middle of that (which is what he played last season), which would leave the rest to Splitter. See, nothing's really changed. Splitter is essentially getting the minutes McDyess played down the stretch and in the playoffs, only because he's young, he doesn't need his minutes managed throughout the season.
But I expect this to be moot anyway, because I think they'll acquire a starting four, give up Blair in the process and Splitter will be the backup five. So instead of 24-26 mpg, I think he'll play 18-20 mpg.
I'd like to see another guy who can defend 4/5 the Spurs get take Bonner's minutes. I doubt they can acquire a starting caliber player but a backup should be fine. Pop has to stop with the gimmick of relying on Bonner to spread the floor. It doesn't work in the playoffs.
Right before the lockout, he and the Spurs agreed to extend the deadline to the first day of the season, whenever that is. Gives them a chance to trade him to a team who needs cap relief.
Do you have any names in mind? I hope this happens, so Bonner would be the #4 or 5 big man, instead of #3 like he would be on the roster as it stands.
Leonard needs to play immediately. I mean, you do not trade George Hill for somebody who they think first needs to spend most of the time on the bench. Anderson would have played 20 min last season if not for the injury. And I think Kawhi is in the same league As Anderson but playing on a position not as stacked as the SG position.
And Bonners minutes need to be reduced to 15 ... Maximum!
Is there a source for this or just speculation? I think it would make for a better team, but the Spurs would need another guard (Battier is more of a SF), and I don't see why the Clippers would trade Kaman and his valuable expiring contract for the Spurs' pu pu platter of RJ + Blair. Even a 1st-rounder wouldn't be enough IMO.
Amir Johnson. But whether they acquire him, another starting four or not, Bonner is going to continue to be the first big off the bench.
Fireball, it's not that Leonard necessarily needs to spend most of the time on the bench or that he couldn't surpass Anderson in the rotation, it's just unlikely that he does, at least at the start. The difference between Leonard and Anderson last season is, there was a clear opening for Anderson to be the primary backup wing.
It's like Blair and Mahinmi two seasons ago. It wasn't completely out of the question that Mahinmi could have been the fourth big, but everyone knew it was unlikely and that Blair was going to be given the first crack.
clips want a vet SF(RJ) plus he would fit great in their system. blair is young with a ton of potential with a very cheap contract plus clips need a Back PF. they want kaman out to so Jordan can take over at C. Kaman has also had some problems with keeping injury free. RJ & blair & maybe some picks could be enough. after all this is the clippers we are talking about.
Clippers won't trade Kaman who has 1 year left on his contract for Rj who has three. They could use the amnesty and have a ton of cap to go after a big time player.
They would already have ton of cap space even if they traded for R.J.
With R.J, Clippers would be roughly (pending new CBA) 20 million under the cap (at least) in the summer of 2012. So acquiring R.J wouldn't necessarily ruin their chances at signing a premiere big name free agent when that time comes.
FWIW: As of now, Clippers payroll would be set at 24 million with Kaman off the books by the summer of 2012.

less than bonner
anderson should take the starting spot and play 35 min a game imho, spurs will use the release clause on under the new CBA so they can use the money to strengthen their bench with a few FA signings. that n!gga anderson = bruce bowen II, yeah
Might fit for next year too.
Unless they find a way to get back at it sometime toward the end of 2012.
