Well, I just tried to force it to do this and apparently the pattern lock is not working if the screen times out. It only does it when I manually hit the power button then hit it again to activate the screen. Kinda lame.
I have the ATT one as well. From the time my phone died this morning, til it came on and died again, the battery is now at 14% and the phone was off the charger for a total of about 20 minutes. Different firmware? What do you mean.

Is there a way to switch to 2G/3G? I don't always need 4G
You don't have LTE do you (don't think your phone is LTE )? LTE is true 4G. Your phone is referring to HSDPA+ which was formally called 3G+ but now is sometimes called 4G for marketing purposes. So you're actually on 3G.
just got email from ATT 4G is official in my area.
what speed should I be getting from speedtest.net??
Someone mentioned that Dallas doesn't have LTE? Was this true? AT&T is headquartered in Dallas so I'd imagine that would be one of the first markets with LTE like San Antonio which its huge AT&T presence.
played with my girl's iphone 4s. Gotta give props to the screen it is beautiful. Also the camera, nice and snappy.
Then... Where are the OS improvements? the OS looks exactly like my 4 year old Iphone 3G. 4 ing years and your looks the same and outdated. After 5 minutes of playing with it, gave it back to her.
Every so often, I will grab her phone and wake it up. Look and admire the screen, but after 10 seconds put it back down. Boring as OS![]()
If you rely on an OS to entertain you, your life must be boring as![]()
everything should entertain. What's the point of it otherwise?
It's not any different than windows. Windows isn't entertaining, it's the apps and internet that make it entertaining.
When my internet is out I just stare at my computer for a few seconds, and then go do something else.
Is that kind of like how, "If you need a device to look as sexy as possible before you buy it, your life must be boring as ."?
Sexy attractive enclosure = awesome! Makes the product much more pleasurable to use.
Needing an OS that looks attractive = HERP DERP UR BORING.
Do I have that right?
if he orgasms when he touches his phone, good for him. unless he is in public
Only when I stick it down my pants while it's ringing.![]()
why you oozing over a IPS screen?, fkn IPS screens for pcs are expensive...
IPS are nice, but I prefer Super AMOLED. Although IPS displays for a computer do indeed rock.
iPhone 4S Not as Good as Androids, Says Consumer Reports
The leading US product critic, Consumer Reports takes a better look on iPhone 4S and found out that it's still not as good as its Android compe ions.
In a report released Tuesday, the enhancement made to iPhone 4S scored a higher rating than the iPhone 4, but fall short to outscore the new Android based phones in the market.

OK. My 30 day "trial" on this phone is up today and I'm kinda leaning towards taking it back.
I'm still having that lock screen issue. That's just lazy coding there--wont ask for the touch code if it times out but will ask for it when I manually time it out???????
It tends to lock up if just a couple of programs/Apps are running. Hasn't totally froze up on me, yet
The 4g or whatever they label it isn't blowing my hair back. And yes I know that's more of the carrier's deal.
I'm still having that cursor issue which is so frustrating at times.
I don't like the fact that I "may" get ICS. Why aren't all android phones able to update the OS once it becomes available? Granted, that is if the hardware can handle it. My 2+ year 3GS was able to update to iOS5 the day it came out. Why do I have to root my phone for a simple update???
Not all giddy about my android experience so far. Convince me, fanboys![]()
Can't convince you that you should be blown away by the stock experience. I would not use android if I didn't have the ability to root and get custom ROMs.
After having had time to use my wife's 4s, and my GS2 Skyrocket, I'm glad I chose the Skyrocket.
The only complaint I have is the battery life could be better. But basically everything I did on the 4s, I was able to do on the Skyrocket, and in a lot of cases, I could do much better on the Skyrocket.
Now I haven't rooted the Skyrocket, or played with a jailbroken 4s (my wife thinks if I jail break it, it will blow the phone up or something ing re ed), so I still haven't gotten a chance to really utilize these devices to the extend they can be. But for stock devices, unless you are a complete electronic dimwit or an iphone fanboy, I think most people will be more pleased with the GS2. I think the TouchWizUI (which >>>>>>> sense IMO) is nearly as intuitive as iOS5, but obviously more customizable.

Your lock screen issue isn't an issue, from what I read in your earlier post. It's a setting. There is a way to set it up so that the pattern lock kicks in after a certain amount of time. You can have it kick in immediately, or after a while.
I'm wondering why you are having it lock up on you, I haven't had that issue whatsoever. That sounds like your specific phone has an issue, or maybe there is more to the story we don't know about.
If I recall, AT&T said we definitely will get ICS.
and I haven't had any issue with the cursor like you described. Kinda strange...
Setting. An issue. An issue with my setting. Ive done everything you have to, which you spelled out, and that's what happens. It only asks me for my passcode when I manually timeout the screen. If it times out manually, all I have to do is swipe away the lock screen. No code necessary. And while I'm typing this there's about a half second delay from when I type til it shows up on the screen. Active applications are this browser and Facebook. The skyrocket is $50 more, right?
This is a sad story that doesn't get told much. Here's an article about it:
http://theunderstatement.com/post/11...ory-of-support
Obviously, if you're adventurous or techie enough, this might not be an issue, but sometimes having official support isn't all that bad and saves you time.
Hmm. Well I don't mind rooting it and all that but it just seems like a hassle to do where with Apple, I can just update. Yeah, I like tweaking this and that...........but for simple OS updates????? Yes I see the difference in freedom Apple and Androids give you, now that I've experienced both, but it just seems like its unnecessary tweaking needed to do that with Androids. I don't know if that makes sense or not. And while I was typing this the damn cursor thing almost made me throw the phone against the wall.
