This was one of those rumored fights I heard of that was hoping wasn't going to happen because I'm a big fan of Ebersole but I understand they don't want to rush MacDonald. Ebersole won't be a push over in this fight ; but I don't see anyway Rory loses this fight.

A heavyweight standoff between two big names has been booked for December, as former UFC heavyweight champions Minotauro Nogueira and Frank Mir have verbally agreed to rematch at UFC 140 in Toronto.

"Both men are known as two of the premiere submission specialists in the division but have shown dangerous striking skills as well," said UFC president Dana White.

Verbal agreements are for a match between two of the most accomplished light heavyweights in the sport as Rogerio "Lil Nog" Nogueira will face the “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” o Ortiz December 10th at UFC 140 in Toronto.

Nogueira and Ortiz were originally set to meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night in March, but an injury sidelined Ortiz, and Phil Davis fought in his place. (Trivia time: Five months later, Ortiz repaid the favor by stepping in for an injured Davis at UFC 133, an from which Nogueira was also forced to withdraw due to injury.)

"The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung and Mark Hominick have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 140 in Toronto on December 10th. Jung is coming off a Submission of the Year win and Hominick's last outing had him pushing featherweight champion Jose Aldo to the limit in one of the best performances of his career."

How did I miss this ? Can I say WHAT IN THE BLUE is Mir doing?! What can he hope to accomplish with this fight? Nog is garbage! When Mir destroys Nog, it will be because Nog is old and it's time for him to call it quits. If, by some miracle, Nog can beat Mir, it is a MAJOR blow to his chances at ever fighting for the belt again. I can't fathom why Frank would even consider taking this fight. There is NOTHING GOOD coming from this fight. , I'm pissed.

Frank Mir vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira -- Frank is going to butt him back to that box mud hut that he and his sister, Lil' Nog play Doctor with eachother. RETIRE HIM, FRANK - PLEASE!
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. o Ortiz -- I ing hate Brazilians, so I have to root for a ing Mexican't instead. It's really lose/lose.
Brian Ebersole vs. Rory MacDonald -- This fight will be over in less than three minutes. TKO.
"The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung vs. Mark Hominick -- I ing hate Asians and their ty ring names. The Korean Zombie? Get the out of here with that bull .

Igor "The Duke" Pokrajac vs. Krzysztof "The Polish Experiment" Soszynski -- I don't care who Igor is, but I'm picking him. I simply can't pick a Polish prick, for any reason at all. Worthless bags of frog balls; the lot of 'em.

UFC Targeting Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans for UFC 140 Main Event

The UFC is targeting December's UFC 140 for the long-awaited Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans light-heavyweight le bout, MMA Fighting has learned from sources with knowledge of the situation.

The fight is not yet official, but appears likely to be announced within the next 24-48 hours. UFC president Dana White told MMA Fighting that he could not yet announce a UFC 140 main event, but might possibly be able to do so by the end of the day.

Before that can happen, at least one hurdle must be overcome. Evans has to be cleared from a hand injury suffered in his recent UFC 133 win over o Ortiz. That injury required pins to be inserted into his hands, but Evans' coach Mike Van Arsdale told MMA Fighting that he was scheduled to visit the doctor on Wednesday and expected Evans to be cleared.

Van Arsdale told MMA Fighting he had no knowledge of the rumored December date, but said a clean bill of health would make Evans' participation in a Dec. 10 fight feasible.

"I think if they give us any date, I can get him ready to beat Jon," he said. "I'm not overly concerned about Jon like everyone else is. My fighter has the ability, tools and the determination to beat him. As long as he's healthy, and I have eight or nine weeks with him -- and it's right around that right now, that's all I need."

Alright Toronto!!! Dec 10th UFC 140 tix go on sale next weekend and ur main event is Bones Jones vs Machida!!!
    Statement from Rashad:

“After my last fight against o Ortiz, I dislocated my right thumb, which required it to be set back in place and held with pins. 24 hours ago, my physician removed the pins. At that time, I learned that it would require another three weeks of rehabilitation before engaging in any exercise or training that would require the use of my hand.

Dana White and I spoke earlier today, and I fully understand his decision to put Machida against Jones for the le at UFC 140. Given the rehabilitation time I require for my dislocated thumb, I would not be 100 percent ready by December 10. The UFC has to keep making fights that entertain the fans. I would have done the same thing as Dana in his position. I’m asking for the fans to support me as I rehabilitate my hand, and I promise I will be back fighting very quickly.”

Jon Jones Explains Why He Is Fighting Lyoto Machida at UFC 140

    http://www.mmafighting.com/2011/10/0...da-at-ufc-140/

Now I'm in dbreiden83080 situation (Bones / Rampage) for this fight because I'm a big fan of both fighters; when I first got into MMA, Machida was probably the 1st fighter I became a fan of because of his Karate background. Will be an interesting match up for both fighters. Bones first match up against a southpaw with an elusive style.

And I'm 99% sure this fight will not be a war of words, rather a respectful battle

    Jones ripping Evans to here

    Love it...

Do you think Rashad should have to fight someone else now before fighting you?

Yeah. Obviously, I want to fight him. But how long are you going to get to wait and sit around? You go from not fighting for a whole year, and then you get a fight like o Oritz, which everybody knows where o is at in his career, and now he just gets to sit around and be the No. 1 contender again? It looks like he's the one that's sitting on his glory and riding his glory. There's tons of guys out there. I think when he gets better, he should have to fight Phil Davis or Dan Henderson. How does he get the right to just sit around and say who he is going to fight and when he is going to fight and continue to be the No. 1 contender while everybody else fights all year long?

From the presser; pretty obvious move but when asked if Machida will train with Anderson Silva to help emulate Bones, Machida answered "Anderson already called me to get together for this fight;" right after you see Bones throw his arms, like "dang it" lol lol

That's too bad, MacDonald is a stud. He has ass hole potential, but for now, I like him.

Who cares though, this is all about MIR, baby.

I hope Machida has Anderson Silva in his camp, because Silva is just about the only person I can think of that can match Jones' style and technique. I ing hate Silva, but I want Machida to win so badly that I hope they work together.
