Real deal.
Hopefully not made of glass like Felix.
Back in his OU days, I always thought he would turn out to be a very good NFL RB. I always wondered why OU fans hated on him so much.
He looks damn talented and this is with an o-line that many considered too young/new to be very good. I can understand one good game, but when you put up the ypc he has over 3 games, that is damn impressive.
He was good when I would watch him play at OU and I don't think people hated on him as much as Stretch says. When I was at the games, most liked him and thought he had a ton of talent and was a TD machine.
He has enough speed to break big plays and he runs hard enough to be an every down back. He is elusive and has really good vision as well. He still needs some work on catching the football, although he is above average there. He looks pretty damn promising obviously, but I see enough to think he can be a feature back that gets you above average ypc.
Hoping he's the real deal. Finally a Cowboys running back who can move, and run through the middle. Haven't seen that since Emmitt. Not comparing the two..at all...but it's refreshing to see a guy like Murray on this team.
same here i always loved Murray and thought he would a good NFL back, especially after watching him rape Tech over the years. Always had good speed, fought for extra yards, and ran downhill really well.
here's me in the Draft thread having an orgasm once we drafted him

BUMP
This
Worries the mess out of me
even a "real deal" RB is a flash in the pan, there are a handful of exceptions, but elite RBs are elite for 4 years max
Wasn't Tashard Choice deemed the next "real deal" Cowboys RB? Before that is was Barber. He does look good but it takes a good 1 1/2-2 seasons to see if a RB is the real thing.
So far he does look like he has the goods but way too early to tell.
9ers fans in that thread
Cowboys have had one 1000 yard rusher in the last 10 seasons. Kid looks like a stud but I've seen Julius Jones and Felix Jones do the same one season then disappear afterwards.
Barber was good for a couple of years. Choice for a couple of games. Neither one was as highly regarded coming out of college as Murray. Neither of those guys had the speed to do what Murray can. Murray probably should have gone in the 2nd round this year, but he slid and Dallas got him.
He has a chance to really make a big difference for Dallas' offense with good health. Romo could certainly use a big time player back there where does not have to always force throws.
Hope he is the real deal...
If so, then this might turn ROMO from being an average quarterback who chokes routinely...
To an above average QB whose ass might be saved by a solid running back who takes a lot of pressure off of ROMO so his chances of choking are minimized...
Both of these are true. My one concern about him coming out of college was being injury prone. It seems like he was always fighting an injury at OU and I remember he sat out the NC against Florida. Still, I always thought that if he was healthy he had the potential to be better than Barber, Jones, and Choice right away.
Bill Parcells ed up Julius Jones' career with his hit the assigned hole bull . Felix never ever had a season like this in his career.
His only injury was in 07, dislocated knee cap. That was it
The thing that impresses me the most looking at his college stats is that he never fumbles.
Let's keep out fingers crossed assholes.
the jinx is on today.
They better..if Jones starts when he gets back JJ and Garrett are going to have men with pitch forks outside their houses.
You have as much brain power as Sean Taylor currently. NONE!
