Franco Harris is a dumbass....
Franco Harris defends former coach Joe Paterno
Hall of Fame running back and former Penn State star Franco Harris says Joe Paterno should not have been fired in the wake of the child sex-abuse scandal engulfing the university.
Speaking to MSNBC on Thursday, Harris said that he's "upset" by Paterno's ouster and that the legendary coach did the right thing by reporting what he knew about Jerry Sandusky's alleged abuse to his superiors.
When asked why Paterno didn't alert the police, Harris defended his coach, saying the alleged abuse by Sandusky was "a university matter" and "no longer a football matter for Joe."
"You people can say 'Listen, yeah, everybody should do this,' but... I would say 95 percent of people would go through superiors thinking that your superiors who are competent would do their job and go to police," Harris said.

Paterno's supporters run amok over firing
Harris, who was an honorary board member of Jerry Sandusky's Second Mile charity, said he was disappointed about the revelations of sex abuse given how beneficial the program was to so many children.
He said the details of the crimes "makes you sick in your stomach."
"I'm defending Joe Paterno, not Jerry Sandusky," Harris said. "I was defending the Second Mile program, that it's a great program and unfortunately, we have the founder take advantage of that situation. I am supporting Joe Paterno and I wish the board would have supported Joe Paterno."

He knew...he didn't call the police...period.
^& yet Paterno is very fortunate. Media gave him the by your leave to get his 409 before they ratted Sandusky & him out. Paterno is extremely lucky the kids were of no import. Otherwise, this thing woulda blown up long before 409 was achieved.
Dude, you're stupid.
You're a homer and your posts have been proven ty.The problem wasn't with the punishment, it was with the NCAA's willingness to allow the perpetrators to play in the Sugar Bowl.
Critics have alleged that the decision was made in the interest of a more compelling matchup that would sell more tickets and increase television ratings. In other words, it was a business decision.
NCAA officials flatly denied the charge, but even taken at their word, they made the wrong decision.

Sounds like Sandusky is officially going with the Michael Jackson defense. To bad for him he didn't create Thriller.
Also, this thing's reach is far-stretching. It was reported that Sandusky was released on a $100,000 unsecured bail, when the norm for these charges is $500,000 secured. The difference in the two is the latter requires cash up front for freedom, while the former doesn't, so Sandusky was basically released no harm done. Very odd. Until you read that the judge that made the call on the bail was a frequent volunteer for The Second Mile and knows Sandusky.
Seriously. Can't the coverup die with the firing of Paterno and the disappearance of Gricer?
You'll have to get clearance thru Media. They're runnin' this in' show. And have been for over a decade.
ESPN seems to be doing it's best to perpetuate the "generational gap" argument with why Paterno was complicit in sweeping it under the rug. Tonight's interview with Duke's head coach Mike Krzyzewski, was the third or fourth big-name to mention Paterno's age and that generations handle social matters differently.
I've always hated the way ESPN crafts its stories. They got the fall that made their 24-hour coverage so important late last Thursday. Now they gotta assuage their guilt and befuddle the grandfather Peterno who knew no better.
what media?
the power hungry Happy Valley media?
^I don't distinguish.
Media.
Just one person's name in said media would do.
That way we could confirm your bias.
I don't give two s if you confirm my bias or not.
Media.
I don't give one about your strawman.
I'm just confirming your ignorance and stupidity.
Media.
It's the media's only job to dig the truth outta like this, but they usually neglect it.
I don't believe you.
