Sorry, I thought that was you. I guess it was just a hologram.
Did you wipe everything before installing CM7?
Sorry, I thought that was you. I guess it was just a hologram.
so that makes two fails on your part.
Correct, full wipe in CWM. I did restore a few google apps through anium Backup then ended up flashing with the googleapps.zip in CWM, not sure if that caused a conflict.
Now as I type my data for some reason is not working at all. I'm gonna restore to my last ROM to check if it's my carrier, then I'll probably flash CM7 again from scratch.
Is CM7 for the SGII still in alpha (or beta)? This may be your issue.
How would I find out? I don't think it is, it's 7.1.0 stable version.
I just took a look at cyanogenmod.com and it looks like the SGSII is past the beta phase. Maybe check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/foru...er=desc&page=2 and see if there is any help to be had.
Yeah, I practivally live there now
I'm just going to start with a new flash with the ROM, I didn't like the way my backups from anium and the ones from google sync restored.
What I do is I let google sync do its work, then restore "missing apps with data." Either that, or I turn off all internet connection (so google sync cannot do its work) then restore everything from anium. Either way.
Holy crap @ all those Android headaches
Flash device, tweak, roms, kill aps, etc
WTF
I can say something like "Holy Crap Apple Headaches" then spew random words too.
"iTunes, Siri, Phone Calls, unicorns"
I just found it funny that you chose a few benefits, then followed it up with something that has nothing to do with 95% of android devices.
How come some providers have better phone specs than other providers even though they are the same phone?
Like T-mobile galaxy phones are inferior to ATT galaxy phones.
At least iOS is stable
Sorry brah, used iOS for 3 years, not going back.
Ok,
At least Android is stable too.
It's no different to when I had the iPhone I would download custom firmware with resized system par ions, custom boot logo, etc. Only difference is that I was severely limited on what I could actually do.
I am not sure, but I believe the carriers can request certain features either be turned off or not present, likely just turned off.
yes

Are they demonstrably different? (assuming you are talking about the galaxy S I) I know, for example, that the sprint galaxy s was different because they wanted a qwerty keyboard. Other than that was there a major difference?
im not going to say Android is more stable than iOS, but on many android phones, its every bit as stable these days.
older android phones definitely had stability issues, but they have pretty much overcome that. between the time i have had using my phone and my wifes 4s, ive had just as many force closes on each phone, which is very very few (maybe 3-4 on each device, if that). I would probably still give the stability nod to iOS, slightly, but at the same time, if you left an android phone as simple and uncustomized as an iPhone, it would be just as stable.
and when it comes to killing apps, i dont even have to do that these days. i dont have a task killer on mine, because nearly all apps on my phone automatically close when i exit out. that has pretty much been overcome as well.
OMG ANDROID PHONES NEED ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE
