Anyone playing on Xbox? Add me "JawsTheme" without quotations of course.
Dam u greybeards and the travel a hundred miles to get to one mission.
Do the opening quest line that gets you to the Greybeards, finish that portion.
I am being intentionally vague here...
Once you realize a certain item isnt where you were told it was and that you have to go meet the person that took it, finish that portion. After that, Dragons attack from everywhere, all the time.
Sorry... I was drunk enough that it affected my reading comprehension, apparently.
game is great, but I'm still thinking Oblivion was better. Skyrim seems a bit more shallow, RPG elements stripped/dumbed down again (which is par for the course for RPG sequels unfortunately). and they could have recorded a few more conversation lines, especially for Lydia, she has only one response for everything.
also, (as I previously pointed out from the first gameplay trailers) Dragons are relatively very easy to kill. I routinely get raped by those Chauruses and even Sabre Cats on occasion, but Dragons? not even close, 4-0 so far, with no help on the last one, and I usually suck at combat.
if you're a Nord against a Frost Dragon, they have to breath on you for about a minute straight in order to kill you, a few power swings with a good weapon when they land and it's over.
Anyone know where to get thieves guild armour? They gave me some but I got rid of it, now they're offering me upgrades but she says I have to go get the starter armour to trade in.
I'm not a Nord and the frost dragons are a , even at level 20+... I also just played Oblivion right before this one, and it really had it's severe flaws too, some of which I pointed out earlier. At least Skyrim doesn't have that feeling that you're doing the laundry every time you encounter an Oblivion gate.
I'm close to just taking a break from Skyrim at this point. I completed the war side quest and the elf-blood side quest. I'm still debating whether I want to become a wolf man. Anybody did that Companions quest?
Glad I'm not the only one getting raped by these damn saber cats. I've killed 5 dragons already and haven't even come close to dying, with the cats I'm 50/50.
The only way Oblivion IMO is better than Skyrim, is in the traits and perks area, I liked Oblivions way better. I don't like Oblivion's leveling system. It makes NO SENSE to even level up in Oblivion since everything levels up with you. You do all that work, and you never get the sense that you're progressing at all.
Skyrims leveling is about perfect to me. It jams the people that try to power level certain perks, but it also keeps your enemies from leveling right with you to a certain extent.
I agree, it is dumbed down from Oblivion, they could of ed up the menu's a little more but all in all it's an awesome game.
I've probably gotten killed by a Saber once, and it was because I was trying to kill a dragon and it shows up out of nowhere, but for the most part if you see it coming and you're not busy trying to kill something else... it goes down fairly easy, imo.. and I'm just level 13
I've killed only 3 dragons, I guess I should go with the greybeards..
I've killed 6 dragons now, smithing iron daggers is the way to go, now i can make orc armour and I have been running through everything because of it, although i regret putting so many skills in 2 handed weapons even though i knew 2 handed weapons suck from past experience i just thought maybe since i was an orc it would be better but i was wrong lol
the werewolf does nothing IMO not much stronger then your regular form and everyone comments about being hairy and stinky even when in regular form
I love my 2 handed hammer. It disregards 75% of enemies armor and staggers them. Before I returned the game, I went ape in Whiterun attacking everything, all merchants, guards, my companion(lol). Made it all the way into Dragons reach with about 15 people trying to kill me. I was smashing them left and right , trying to get to the Jarl or whatever to kill him. I couldn't find him.
With hammers, I just went anywhere(caves, adventuring) and power smashed someone, they staggard and then I'd finish them off with another swing. Animation was sweet.
and I still got owned by saber cats lol.
in my experience, you gotta block (with a shield) to beat saber cats. if I miss one block against 'em I usually die. gotta take out their stamina too if possible

I'm not used to dying man, . I've probably died more in the last 3 days I've had the game than in the entire time I played Oblivion
damn its getting harder now that im lvl 15...mostly because all the "cinematic" fights negate stealth and im a thief. really have to use all my scrolls and potions to stand a chance.
spoilers...
wolf form is a godsend. bethesda really did a good job making sure its only used for hairy situations (zing!) but you really feel like youre kicking ass once you pop that sucker (tossing bandits in the air like ragdolls, regenning health/stam by eating their corpses, fearing them and clawing them while theyre running, etc.). if i pop it while fighting a dragon its gg.

Someone beat you to it.
rip off of Anakin?
hence the quotes
Well, Bethesda ed up. My PS3, along with thousands of others, can no longer produce a framerate remotely close to acceptable. Apparently when save files reach sizes 6MB or greater you begin to lag so much it's shocking.

patch coming out in a week to fix it.
ive decided that thieves stole this elder scrolls game. TWO guilds dedicated to them and an insanely badass armor set (nightingale set is so badass...once you get past the pc bug on the trinity quest). all the gold making abilities with numerous fences and impressive ability scaling. if you want a character with longevity...lots of "end game" things to do...go for the duel wield/archery thief. illusion is fun to throw in there as well. feels like batman or something...
While the gear is nice, I was kind of disapointed in the quest line itself. I was expecting less dungeon crawling and more... well, thieving. I'm working my way through the Dark Brotherhood quests now and having a little more fun with it. Having to assassinate a bride in the middle of her wedding and escape the city with all guards on high alert was ing awesome.
