And not planning on going through black Friday.
Only have about 600 or so bucks to spend on, as well.
Can someone teach me about these things?
I finally got my own room and want one, but I know nothing. I was thinking that 42 inches is what would suit me best, though.
Input on LCD or something else is also approved.

Samsung
Amazing quality, good prices
Dont buy Sony - specs for specs, you're gonna pay more for the brand
Go sell some more drugs

whats to know? 1080p and 120(+)hz are like the only important visual factors, the apps and WiDi and other crap can be cool if you make use of it. IMO WiDi should be more prevalent, Microsoft for bailing on media center...
Looks appealing.
Same price on Amazon, as well.
I have that one but a 40... idk if there's a year difference.. but for that price, you better snatch it.
I have 750 bucks to my name.
Have never bought anything with credit, so that scares me.
And is 46 inches too big?
I don't FPS.
Sports games and Skyrim.
Don't buy a tv.
Don't tell me how to live my life tbh.
Employed, though. Probably is smarter to wait until after the new year.
See if I can hold out.
Don't ask for advice then.

they always get horrible reviews.
insignia? They all have over 4 out of 5 stars. I own a 42 inch plasma and it is great.
Don't see this on Amazon, though.
Would love to not pay tax and have my Prime ship it to me by Monday.
My advice, wait until a month after xmas and find some dude with buyers remorse on craiglist who needs the money, you will be able to steal it from him saving 25-30 percent off of retail.
I bought a 37" Best Buy house brand LCD for like $399 back in early 2010. Good for Xbox and connecting my laptop to watch episodes, mounted with an articulating arm.
The reason is because this is best buy's house brand. If you really want to save money though, you will wait until the end of January. Thatis when the new models have been announced and the stores have to move this years models out of the way.
Tough to wait that long, but it would allow me to save for something lavish and , nawmean?
anything over 40" is a bit overkill, especially if its gonna be viewed in a single room.
brands dont always really matter anyway
I'm in the market for a mid-sized one for my bedroom... about 37".
I've been reading in Consumer Reports for the past 2 years that "60Hz refresh rate is a thing of the past, most are 120Hz now".
Now, 2 years later, all the TVs I look at are still 60Hz.
Last year I bought a 46" Samsung LED LCD. It's really thin, light and the pic looks great. The LED is the backlighting (most know this already but I still have people telling me how much better the LED resolution is over the LCD).
Wrong
Brands matter of you're buying to own. If you are visiting someone who has it, you will probably watch whatever, but brands make a big difference, just like all electronics.
