Is he coming back? Retire? Are we gonna do anything with his contract?

I like McDyess. I think he played well last year until Pop decided to start him and overplay him. But I hope he retires. I don't think the Spurs are better off keeping the same front court they had last year considering how bad it was against Memphis. Spurs need some youth on the front.

He's not coming back. He'll retire, one way or another, whether we offload his contract or not.

If Battier is top FA target, how does that fill the PF/C hole?

Battier would have been good...3 years ago. Spurs need to develop Leonard and not stunt his growth by giving tons of minutes to some dinosaur who is way past his best days. Unless we're getting Sefolosha, Iguoadala, or Allen, just develop Leonard.

Thats my questions, SA Express should be reporting soon SA has already contacted Battiers agent...rumor has it.

Unless they believe Richards will tear it up.

Another trade I have heard talked about is RJ to Sac for Beno and Jason Thompson. That would be a good trade for us. Richards and Thompson with Splitter and TD would give us good size and athletic ability plus Thompson and Richards can play away from the rim.

    Hope this deal goes down.
No, you haven't. You know how I know you haven't? Because Udrih was traded to the Bucks on draft night. In the trade, the Kings acquired Salmons to be their starting small forward. And given their lack of interior depth, there's no chance they'd trade a decent, young, affordable big, for an aging, overpaid small forward, who's not an upgrade on what they have at the position.

I didn't even know that. The Bucks traded Salmons, who they just traded for and resigned a season ago (IIRC) back to Sacramento for Udrih? lol

T2S - Are you making this stuff up????

I've heard you say on more than one occasion that you have inside info, but not knowing Udrih was traded is a pretty big gaffe.

^ He probably read an old article(when there was speculation between Sac and SA) and tried to pass off this knowledge as insider info. I "heard" really means read. Next time he needs to check the date.

No way we trade Mason after the games he's been having.

Count me in as one who believes Dice should retire. If the Spurs already had another promising young PF, Dice would be fine to keep as a 5th big. As it stands, they'll probably need to use his partially guaranteed contract to try and swing a deal for a young big.

As for RJ, the Clips actually need a scoring SF, perhaps they could use him or perhaps Clips owner Donald Sterling would be dumb enough to trade for him.

The problem is, Butler, Prince, Battier, Hill, Kirilenko and Howard, are all free agents. Given their market, the fact that the team is promising and the fact that they have cap space, there's no reason to think they won't be able to sign one of them. Jefferson would probably be a last resort, if one at all.

Yeah, I didn't think about that. I'm actually less than hopeful about the Spurs prospects of being able to deal RJ. However, I didn't ever expect the Clips to ever be able to unload Baron Davis either, but they found a sucker in the Cavs.
