awesome toon. lol
So they have sex with fat people?
At the end of the day all of these companies make these devices to make money, and Apple makes the most money.
Yep, Asus showed that Galaxy Tab who's boss.
Even then, I'm not convinced that's the step forward I need to see before making the jump to a full tablet.
Although I've considered buying a dumbphone in the near future to replace my Evo and getting a tableted internet plan instead.
I'm convinced. The tablet/laptop will basically do everything you would do with a regular laptop ie movies, music, internet, word processing and data entry with the exception of intense gaming. If not, the app store will most likely have a program that would suit you. The tablet is just as fast as well. I would just have to buy a memory stick and external harddrive and I'll be good. What more do you need that would convince you?
I mean that functionally a tablet isn't that different from my netbook/laptop that I have now (which can play almost any game on the market). Yes, the tablet is light, but for sheer portability, nothing beats a cell phone, and when I really need power, I have the 11" Alienware. So the tablet is kind of a between system right now that I don't think I could find a real use for. It's not different enough from a phone, and not powerful enough to compare to an actual laptop for the present.
I do expect that to change in the future, however, in the here and now, I personally can't find a need for a tablet. I don't know what the change will be that finally sells me on one, but I have a feeling I'll know it when I see it.
after a few months with the Transformer I almost got my money's worth already. Use it for email, browsing, news daily. Yes you can use your phone for this too, but you can also have a 15" monitor instead of a 27". it's all about size and comfort.
other 3 features I love: keyboard dock. It's so clumsy to write an email without a physical keyboard, the dock also re-charges the tablet. Full HDMI mirroring, you can watch movies, browse, play games on your 50" from the comfort of your couch. And last, it comes with Splashtop which allows you to remote control your PC via WiFi with native resolutions. basically you not only have a tablet, you have your entire PC

Ah I see. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't bother with a tablet then. Currently, I'm in the market for a non-gaming laptop and think the transformer will do enough to suit my needs.
does the dock need to be charged or just plugged in?
either way. Dock has same battery as the device.
ahh ok, i was thinking maybe the dock could function as an extra battery
from a review of the original transformer. I think that this is what you are looking for.
http://www.androidcentral.com/asus-e...sformer-reviewBattery life for the tablet is listed as a 24.4-watt-hour lithium-polymer, rated for 9.5 hours of use. There's a battery slice tucked into the keyboard dock, too, which ramps up battery life to a massive 16 hours on paper, anyway
it does.
My tablet gets 5 hours of use with battery, with dock 10 hours of life.
ty, i thought it might work like one of those Juice Packs from mophie for the iPhone. still a neat idea.
if you mean the tablet will recharge its own battery from the dock battery. Yes it does work like that.
in reality I get around 5 hours from tablet + 5 from dock to 10 hours of use. pretty good IMO
Use your tablets/smartphones/laptops/netbooks at your sperm's peril:

runner up ya buddy if umm having like 70 plus percent of the tablet market is being a runner up i'll take it. There isnt a single tablet that has sold even 10 percent of the number as Apples Ipads. And theres a reason that overpriced piece of whatever you call it is a superior product. Period. Sans the camera.
Reason is because of marketing. I've seen the Ipad plastered all over the TV, I have yet to see a Transfomer advertised on tv. I found out about the quad core here on Spurstalk.
If your , no matter how lame it is gets a tv commercial, it WILL sell. Look at the Snuggy.
In this day and age, claiming superiority merely on marketing prowess is re ed. It's not like people don't know about Android.
There are other factors too. IIRC, the selection of actual apps specific to android tablets is pretty poor compared to the iPad.
Having used a bunch of tablets I'd probably agree the iPad is still the one to beat. Eve though I think Gingerbread > iOS for smartphones it's clear iOS >> Honeycomb for tablets.
But lol @ bringing up market share to superior product. I bet most people who use Apple will never say Mac OS is because it continues to have a 10% NA market share and a <5% worldwide market share.
It doesn't matter how good the marketing is, it's not like there aren't a load of people giving product reviews of the product online, if the product truly was a turd Apple could not hide it with the power of the internet people are more informed than ever in regards to consumer products. There are a load of Ipad Vs. Xoom, Galaxy Tab etc reviews on Youtube. Nobody has even put a dent in sales of the Ipad. The only tablet i see having a chance because of price point and distribution is the Kindle Fire but it still pales in comparison. Im not saying this blindly I bought a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and looked for reasons to keep it so I could have one Android to go with the Ipad 2 and it was a huge step backwards. After three days I took that shiny turd back.
So have both of you guys tried the Asus EeePad Transformer? Cuz It doesnt sound like Heath did. How bout you Resistanze?
Personally I don't think the Transformer is really compe ion for the iPad. I think it would be an excellent lightweight work machine that could easily replace a laptop, while the iPad (to me) is much more of an entertainment machine. You can buy a keyboard case/dock for it, but it wasn't designed with that in mind.
