Without any explanation of the judging, it seems a little like a popularity contest. Might I suggest that you have subcategories for poster and thread starter. Thread starter either being someone with the most insightful OP or one that creates an actual discussion.
This whole voting thing will be a travershamockery if DarrinS's washing machine detergent thread doesn't take first place in the Fail Thread category.
