2002 Tim Duncan
And by that I mean, what one player captures what you think is missing the most from the Spurs? A better defensive stopper? A true center? A young, athletic shooter? A three point shooter?
Who would you magically add to the Spurs' current core of best players (Manu, Tony, Tim, Blair, Neal, Splitter, Dice) if money were no object?
I'm thinking Luol Deng. He plays a position we are always weak at (SF) and he's tough, defensive-minded, but shoots the ball reasonably well.
I wish...![]()
Oy,the whole point was to think about the core the Spurs have NOW and what they need most to compete for a le...Duncan is still one of the best players in the NBA, even if he's not as dominant as he used to be. But he still has an important role to play for the Spurs, esp come playoff time, on the defensive end.
A PF or C that can score in the post and is competent down low with some post moves. Defense just needs to be from average to good. I'd rather that type of player than a player that excels in defense only.
Actually, I want to change my vote: I want 1999 Tim Duncan before the meniscus tear. Since I can do magic I'm not going to be confined by your draconian rules tbh.
Still, 1999 Tim Duncan wasn't much of a defender even with the meniscus. I'll change my vote back to 2002 Tim Duncan but with 1999 Duncan's meniscus magically put in.
They need a superstar to build around. But that'll probably be postponed until after TD's farewell tour, which is fine.
If I had a magic wand, I think I'd aim a little higher than Luol Deng! he's good, but not magic wand-worthy.
Magic? okay... I would pickup a dwight howard sized guy with Michael Jordan's skill set.
We need a lot more than Luol Deng. That being said I can see Kawhi being similar to Deng. Based on my very limited knowledge that's my player projection for Kawhi.
Luke Walton. Purely for the laughs.
This is easily Dwight Howard and no one else except for a 100% healthy Oden and if you don't agree you are gay.
erm, LeBron James?
obviously?
Michael J Fox from Teen Wolf. Baller
Drew Gooden after he has Tim Duncan's basketball smarts implanted into his brain.
