I would like a trade for Omer Asik.
He was very good the 2 or 3 times I have watched him and the Bulls don't need him

I think Aaron Gray would be a good fit. He very big and physical which is what we need. I was impressed with his defense against the Lakers last year in the playoffs and that is the area where we desperately need improvement. Plus, he should come relatively cheap and should improve is offense while working with TD.

    ?
because it's counterproductive to have some competent back up players?
especially if you want to build a contender?

I'd like Asik aswell, but I wouldn't like the Price tag(Blair and a first at a minimum). And, we want him to be our backup centre, they have him play backup centre. Why is he essential here but superfluous to requirements in Chicago?

Asik is a big physical shot blocker who likes to dunk when he's near the rim. The only thing he and Splitter have in common are melanin related.

They have a lot a quality big and they played him around 10 minutes per game last year. He was the 5th big in their rotation after Noah, Boozer, Gibson and Thomas

It's always nice to have quality backup but they still have to find a starting SG! So a trade is possible IMO

Asik is very efficient on D. Splitter not so much.
I checked the stats since I have seen only 2 or 3 games of Asik :
    Defensive rating :
    Asik : 97
    Splitter : 103

    For comparaison :
    Dwight : 94, Duncan : 100, Bonner : 108 (lol)

Kaman is the target. Collison would be second. Okafor third if NO gets Bynum. R Lopez lastly. Keep an eye on an outside trade for Ed Davis from Tor, Pops loves him and wanted him a year ago.

Nice pick next to TD, strong defender and rebounder with a developing offensive game. If spurs willing to take Calderon this has a shot of getting done.

Reggie Evans anyone? He rebounds, defends and is tough as nails. Adds nothing on offense but he could be got for cheap. I like him or Gray as realistic picks provided no major trades or unexpected shake ups.

the Spurs shouldn't add a Big man unless they trade one of the ones they already have away.

I would suggest Blair - I like the kid but he isn't big enough to work in the Spurs system. He'd be great with the Clippers, GS Warriors or Nuggets in that he needs a running team to thrive. However, neither of those teams have any quality replacement players that they'd be willing to offer the Spurs outside of Dorel Wright, Radmonovic, Brian Cook or Melvin Ely
