They'd have the cap space if they drop the Options on Mr. Kardashian and Man s, but Orlando isn't going to let him walk. They will trade him for something before they let him go for nothing, and not only are they not interested in anything the Lakers can offer, but they can also do better.
Dwights contract is up the end of next season so it wouldn't matter if the Magic traded him. If he really wants to go to L.A he will just wait until the end of the 2012-2013 season when he is a FA.

If he walks, it's up to him where he goes. You don't have to be a genius to know that, for a player like D12, almost every team would make moves to accommodate.
Let's be realistic here, we all know Dwight wants to be a Laker or Knick. Teams that he would settle for are probably Nets with D-will or Clippers. No other team really accommodate his desire to not only win a chip, but be put in the media spotlight.
