lmfao! What the is "natural African athleticism"? Unless you are like this "super athlete" colleges are willing to bend the rules on, 3.0 is the legal standard.
3.5 actually.

Another interesting tidbit for those who thinks athletes are dumb: Scholarship-athletes have a higher graduation rate than the non-athlete students.

I don't think anyone was saying that all athletes are dumb.
During that period, the graduation-success rate for African-American male basketball players has increased from 46 percent, for athletes entering college in 1995, to 60 percent, for those who enrolled in 2003.
The general consensus is that people think scholarship athletes only got into school by sports and that most of them can't even read.
With the major revenue sports like football and basketball, I think you're right. And that the better athlete a kid is, the more the school is willing to push him through the system and fudge his grades.
I definitely don't think they're dumb, but your point here isn't really a good one considering the special tutoring and monitoring they get. Also, I don't think I'm being crazy by saying that there's most likely some strings being pulled for athletes grades as well.
I don't give a personally. Even if they were all complete morons, athletics bring in tons of money and recognition
This can't be understated.
What? I don't think thats the general consensus at all.
There's a notable difference between a professional athlete who went to college and a student athlete.
Sure they graduate, but how many of them take and difficult classes?
I know several people personally who were prominent college athletes who all took bull classes like radio and television or some other 1 night a week study class.
So you think USC gave Reggie Bush a scholarship and improper benefits because of what he would contribute academically![]()
This kid is pleading not guilty...
