If the deal goes through, the Knicks use amnesty on Chauncey Billups and move Ronny Turiaf to make room for Chandler, sources say.

Multiple league executives say the Knicks are now in the lead to land Tyson Chandler, jumping in front of the Warriors.

wait why didnt they just buy him out or reject the deal. 15 million dollar mistake. also isnt his contact partially guaranteed? i think 5 million is. anyways maybe they needed those extra 10 guaranteed.
i dont know id be more interested in nene, chandler is getting glorified like perkins did by the celtics its going to be costly.
billups will be a hot commodity. he has a 1 yr deal so its a real no risk bid. not like roy where you would have been stuck with him for 4 years. i hope for his sake nobody bids he deserves to be a free agent. on the other hand nevermind he will run to the heat wont he? #competetivebalance
So a deal for CP3 based around Amare, let's see what LAL is going to offer to compete.
It's the same amount of money, and he'll be getting his $60M a year sooner in GS. What the ?KBergCBS Ken Berger
Sources say Golden State's offer for Chandler was not as robust as the 5-year, $60M that's been reported.
That would definitely be a big step in the right direction for NY. Now just get rid of coach Pringles.
I guess this is the backup plan if the Lakers land Paul.
Chandler will founder in NY.
mavs landing dwight and billups, we staaaaaaaaaaaacked
Hmmm interesting. LOL at someone saying they would offer Amare for Paul ....why would Hornets eat that contract?
If Paul definitely would sign with Knicks ...amnesty Amare, sign Chandler and let Cauncey's contract expire so you can sign Paul as a FA ...
^ of course neither would happen ...just saying ...
Smart move by the Knicks, but their garaunteed not to get Chris Paul next year. He'll require around 15 mil acquire and I don't see them having enough money with Chandler/Melo/Amare on the books.
NY is basically saying they prefer Chandler to Paul. If this deal falls through, how does Paul feel about joining the Knicks now?
Staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacked
Exactly. so the question is would they be better with:
(A) amare Melo Paul
or
(B) Chandler, Melo Amare
... ?
looks like its getting closer. warriors gun shy moving on. probably better to get nene
espn source" 98% done to the knicks"
The Knicks could likely only offer Chandler a starting salary around $10 million or so, and I don't see why Cuban wouldn't match that.
he isnt restricted. reportedly the mavs offered him a 1 yr 20 million deal. knicks can trade or amnesty billups to open up the rest of the money needed for a 13 million a yr deal. may have enough after to convince grant hill to go there.
new trade rumor. amare for cp3. could end up blocking the celtics
