Sans me getting beat flat it was a wonderful story:::

-Barea comin' out like a bull in a china closet. "He really wants it."

-Dirk at 15 down turning in the corner and coming out.
-Kidd hunting those 3's because he'd found something and bled it to death.

Getting off the snide matters. You will always have 2011. But I just can't get behind this demantling of a le team ...
It will be tough to place the Mavs team against the all-time great champions since they dont get a chance to defend with their "core". that being said I do think this team is better than the Heat one and done squad and pretty even with the 2004 Pistons. Pistons were better defensively Mavs, offensively. That would of been a great match-up ...

I would give 2008 Celts an edge over both ...

Sheed was elite but that was mostly defending more traditional big men ...and helping agianst in pnr against PG's. Dirk is neither.

We saw Sheed struggle defending on the perimeter ...in fact his dumb rotation cost the Pistons a repeat vs. the spurs. (how do you leave Big shot rob?!)

I see that series going 7 and maybe HCA deciding it.

2008 Celts were so hungry and KG that year would of done a better job than sheed defending Dirk IMHO.

The Mavs FO know what they are doing. They are giving themselves flexibility to go after superstar players going forward. Dallas will contend this year and next year will be in position to go after a player like Deron Williams and try and jack that window open wider as Dirk gets older

Dirk his entire career has shat on both of those guys, even when they were in their primes, and he wasn't.

I'm not saying those teams would or wouldn't beat the Mavs, just that Dirk would torch those guys just like he did everyone else.
