Hornets general manager Dell Demps is “disconsolate” over the heavy-handed move from the commissioner’s office, a source told Y! Sports. Demps considered resigning his job on Thursday, league sources said, and had to be talked out of it. The Hornets had scored a terrific deal for Paul, a trade that was lauded by some of Demps’ peers throughout the league. Officials involved in the trade talks said the league office was consulted throughout the negotiations, and there was never an indication Demps didn’t have the power to make a deal. In fact, several teams negotiating with New Orleans to get Paul asked the league office, and were told Demps had full authority to execute a trade.

They would have had Odom, Martin, Scola, Dragic.....it would have been a GREAT trade for New Orleans.

Ridiculous decision by the NBA and is costing them credibility already.

I think it woulda been a good deal for NO tbh, not sure why they'd want Odom over Gasol though

I wouldn't call that a terrific deal. What if a potential buyer hates it?

Demps would have probably won GM of the year for turning a 7th seed team into a 6th seed team.

Wow. It's an awful deal for NO and for a guy who complains about how the Suns go about business I figured you of all people would agree with that.

Does this make us even for Kool not paying me the $500 he owes me? Probably not since he spams me with porn and starts terrible threads non stop.

He's a PG hater, and Paul is a PG. It makes sense.

Current Hornets > That Hornets team

    And that's the bottomline

How is it an awful deal for New Orleans? Scola and Martin allow put up far bigger numbers combined than CP3 and that is before you even factor in Odom and Dragic.

*purs fans continue to exhibit a blatant lack of basketball knowledge. Go over to Lakers ground and read my archived posts for a few months. Consider it my free basketball education to you.

son it was a ing awesome deal for the Hornets. 4 solid players and two draft picks for a 5'10 point guard with a bum knee and questionable at ude.

solid point. but it means now that the precedent has been set, paul is not going anywhere otherwise stern would contradict himself. in addition nobody should be singed for more than a 1 year deal. they have 6 players under contract. just sing a bunch of nbdl scrubs
