Bad deal Houston. Martin, Scola and Dragic for Gasol? Wow rockets.
Rockets still part of the deal. I think New Orleans is getting a steal here
Bad deal Houston. Martin, Scola and Dragic for Gasol? Wow rockets.
If Dell Demps could go ahead and flip Scola over to us, that'd be great.
Lakers get: CP3
Rockets get: Pau
New Orleans gets: Odom, Scola, Martin.
I do this in a heartbeat if im N.O
HOU is ing re ed.
NO also gets Dragic
LA is re ed...I'd never give up Gasol and Odom....even for Paul..should have tried luring Howard instead..
CP3 and Kobe? Two ball dominators?
Don't see that working.
Well I guess the good news for the Spurs is that they suddenly don't need as much as size as they did when they woke up this morning. No way the Spurs could ever beat the Lakers with Kobe, Gasol, Odom and Bynum. Just way too big.
This new version of the Lakers is at least beatable on paper.
This is a win for the Hornets. once again the Spurs FO proving we know how to make deals. Now if only the current Spurs FO can shake the rust off and do the same.
Starting PF on opening day is Caracter. They don't have another big right now to replace Bynum with for the first 5 games
daldridgetnt David Aldridge
While we watch the Commish and wait for the CP3 deal to drop like a new foal..source says FA guard Jamaal Tinsley has agreed to terms w/Utah
LA will be exposed in the frontline especially if Bynum goes down, which happens 50% of the time..really big risk to send of 2 bigs...read on ESPN that they are saving Bynum in hopes of getting Howard in a trade...doesnt seem likely to me though...
then again LA did get Gasol for pennies
Love this deal. LA just got worse.
lol if they think Orlando is going to take man s for Howard.
It's always possible with the Lakers....![]()
This is a terrible trade for the Hornets. They should be re-building with young, high upside players and draft picks. Not veterans who have plateaued as a cut under All-Star caliber. What's their goal, to be a perennial one and done team? I don't get this at all. Looks like another team (owned by the league, no less) has conveniently stepped up to help the Lakers just when they're beginning to fade.
It may not look great right now for them, but they will get Howard, which will give them three of the top six to at worst eight players in the game and unlike the Heat, their big three will have no overlap in their games. The front line may look bare, but they'll take Turkoglu with Howard. As bad as he is, he beats the vaunted Caracter/Walton duo. And some half decent veteran PF will sign their on the cheap for a shot at a championship.
lakers are trying to pull this crap and we are just sitting ducks waiting for vet SF's to accept our offers.....
it is what it is...small market team..but FIRST CLASS all the way...seems like everyone that visits our team says the same stuff and somehow ends up with a huge contract from another team..
Chalk me up for one who isn't remotely afraid of facing Chris Paul. Don't mind this deal at all.
I have a guy that is a trainer at my gym who is a huge Lakers homer. I can't wait to talk to him and see how he spins this as good for the Lakers.
I'm not sure the Lakers do this deal if they don't know that Howard is definitely somewhere in the picture here. Orlando would be stupid to send him to LA in a trade centering around Bynum. But I have a feeling that what we're going to see going forward.
Gentleman, start your engines....it's officially Free Agency season.
And only 6 months late...
Should be a pretty whacky day tomorrow. At least we should know one thing by the end of Friday: Will we see Dice for another season?
I really like everything about Dice, but I don't want to see him back on the court this season.
Agreed. Dice was a great guy and an awesome player in his prime...but if he dons a Spurs uniform again, I won't be able to get past images of him biting on pump fakes and failing to close out fast enough on jump shots from Zbo and Gasol Jr. We've already got one center running on fumes, we don't need another.
