NBA teams informed of key dates today, sources say. Window to amnesty players is Dec. 9 (today) thru Dec. 16. Trade deadline is March 15

One more note for when games actually start: From Dec. 25-Feb. 6, NBA teams allowed to dress/play 13 guys per game, one more than usual 12

Jesus Christ, whoever let him shoot that many threes should be ing fired. I hope all of them were half court shots at the end of quarters. Seriously, who the thinks it's a good idea for every single person on the team to get shots? So what if he never takes a shot that isn't a put-back? The Spurs have plenty of guys who can shoot. What they need is someone who can defend. Did we miss the playoffs?
I'm talking more about how SF are used in our system. You realize our SFs get 7 open looks from long range in 1 game the way he have it set up. Them being able to play 5 on 4 on defense isn't exactly recipe for success. Unless were willing to change the offense up a bit.

    lol same old owners
Agreed. Thornton averaged 21 points per game with them. Seems a little premature to give him that much money based on just a handful of games though.

I see what you're saying. If that's the case, then Matt Bonner shouldn't be such a disaster. The Spurs have never relied on the three this much and had success doing it. The Spurs are not going to have easy threes like they did when Tim Duncan was dominant just because they're running plays to get them or stocking the roster with shooters. I'd much rather have four guys doing all the scoring if I know it's going to be a 70-85 point game. Maybe that's pie in the sky, but defense never takes a night off.

Kings must be desperate to reach the salary cap minimum. Who the were they bidding against to drive Thornton's value up that high?

Yeah, well either way I'd rather be a defensive team who can't hit 3s than a 3 pt shooting team who cant defend. So I ultimately agree.

As you said, if the Spurs system is to shoot that many threes then it's time to change it up. Happy mediums are probably the best way to go about it.

This tweet from Ethan Skolnick: The Heat got 3 years each of Battier and Jones for a combined total of less than $15M. Clippers paid $24M for 3 years of Caron.

It's starting to feel like Black Friday, when all the "doorbuster specials" are gone, and other people just keep buying like crazy.

    Here's the snag:
Kings: "Um, we said $2.4M, not $24M. Is that gonna be a problem?"

You have to love a guy described as "maddeningly inconsistent" and "low basketball IQ". That's Francisco Elson on steroids.

The sad thing is, I'm actually thinking about the fact that he' probably good for 8 and 8.

I mean, he's not really a small forward but the Spurs can't exactly be choosers right now.
