I'm just of the opinion that all I want is 2 more les to surpass MJ and then I'm good. If Chris can hold up for 2 les like Gasol did then it was worth it..

I think CP3 will make it easier for Kobe in the regular season. Once the playoffs start, Kobe will be well-rested and ready to dominate while CP3 comes along for the ride.

That's just it, Kobe can dominate no longer. He needs help. That is where Gasol, Odom, Artest, et al failed last playoffs and why Kobe is now exacting his vengeance/rehabilitation.

If the trade does happen, I fully expect CP3 to sign an extension with the Lakers. When there were rumors Boston was after him, he made it clear he wouldn't sign an extension there. I don't believe he's done the same thing with respect to the Lakers. And I doubt the Lakers trade their big man depth for a 1 or 2 year rental. They would have to be sure CP3 would be joining the Lakers with an extension soon following.

He won't sign and extension because it will cost him guaranteed money. He will do what D-Will said and let himself go to free agency, because he can sign with LA for 5 years 100M, vs 4 years 75M via the extension IIRC.
