Just guessing, but with all the free agent signings and trades, is the Spurs FO waiting for teams to cut vet. players, and then try to find a player or two? You would think that some vets, who could possibly help the Spurs, will be on the waiver wire, among the flurry of player movement going on.

Spurs are going after anybody but it looks like Holt's role in the lockout/new CBA is starting to come back and haunt him.
My main concern is they aren't talking about sign a big. We have 4 bigs to start the season: Tiago, TD, Blair and Bonner.What an ugly first day of free agency for Spurs. Tons of moves and Spurs have done basically nothing.
I hope they can turn Dice contract in a C/PF

In order to clear salary cap space, the Knicks will trade Ronny Turiaf to the Wizards.
Washington will not give up any players to acquire Turiaf.
The Knicks needed to clear cap space to make room for Tyson Chandler.

90% of the Duncan era. Usually, with whatever money the Spurs had available, they typically signed the best talent for the price. From Derek Anderson to Bruce Bowen to Robert Horry to Brent Barry to Michael Finley to Antonio McDyess. All of those players (outside of Bowen) were highly coveted by teams that had money in their price range. They ultimately chose the Spurs because of Duncan and the chance to win. The only time Spurs had significant cap room, they almost pulled off Jason Kidd (2003).
That time is obviously over, and has been the past few seasons.
We've been waiting for a 7 footer since April. But 15 days remaining to start of the season and we only have 6 footer TJ Ford.

- Spurs are never big FA players.
- Spurs are in a though financial situation.
- It's only the first day or free agency.
All the above is true but it doesn't change that, right now, Spurs offseason sucks ass.
