^ and a chance to get rid of Turkey Glue's contract.
However, this confirmed request for a trade comes at about the same time as I'd expect people in the loop to hear that the Lakers are getting CP3. I don't think that's a coincidence.
Brook Lopez and 2 first rounders seems pretty good if I'm Orlando.

Dwight Howard has requested that the Orlando Magic trade him to the New Jersey Nets, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Unlike most here, I do think there is a backlash. There was indeed an article where an agent, who chose to rename anonymous, said he would not direct any of his clients to the spurs for holt's leadership role in the talks. Unless they way overpaid for a player, which as we all know does not happen a whole lot.
Yes I know there were probably 24 other teams who felt the same way but sometimes its the most vocal one that gets punished. And the unnamed agent does not represent the sentiment of all agents, which explains why some players did visit the spurs and gave them some consideration.
Would you mind providing a link to that article? Thanks in advance.
He's still only 23. But I agree that he hasn't been as good yet as he might have been if his career went the best way possible.
WHen a player turns down the Spurs to sign with a worse team for less money I'll start to believe the blacklisted thing. So far the Spurs have been talking to guys that they can't afford, hoping they'll take less.
He'll flip him for 3 draft picks down the road...
BOOYAH! Ask and ye shall receive, this was hard to find btw, having taken place a while ago, the internet is indeed amazing.

But here is also the quote:
Hoopsworld’s Alex Kennedy talks to an anonymous player agent who says he will direct his clients away from the owners who have taken a hard line during these talks:
“I don’t want any of my clients playing for Michael Jordan, Paul Allen, Robert Sarver, Dan Gilbert or Peter Holt,” said one agent. “We won’t sign with them, unless they’re willing to really overpay. That’s going to be the only way these hardline owners are going to land any free agents after the way they’ve handled these negotiations.”
Granted, were the spurs ever really players in free agency, probably not as much as other teams, but having agents work against you doesnt help.
SO everyone jog your memories, have portland, phoenix, cleveland, or charlotte landed any big names (aside from resigning an existing player)? I've been staying in touch with the signings as much as anyone but coming up blank, maybe its the alcohol currently in my system.....
We didn't do that well attracting free agents the last few years, even before the lockout. I guess the next star player for the spurs will come from a future draft pick once the rebuilding process starts.
Nuggets are in the same boat, at least the Spurs have rings to show for their drafting success
Nuggets won't ever get top free agents to sign there and the team will just have rebuild through the draft and hope they strike the next Tim Duncan ( loyal as opposed to guys like melo ) at some point.
Sucks watching all the big market teams get the top free agents all the time, but it is fun to watch those teams fail as well![]()

Boston-NO deal for David West still on hold, sources say. Waiting on NBA. C's rookies, JaJuan Johnson and E'Twan Moore discussed in deal.
Magic re-sign Jason Richardson, 4 years/$25M
hmm.
considering what Thornton got, this looks like a bargain. not much more than MLE.
Pistons sign G-F Damien Wilkins

What use for Damien Wilkins do the Pistons have? He's about the last player to sign if you are trying to rebuild.

Lakers screwing the Clippers to maintain LA dominance?
Laker Jerry strikes again.
He's gone. Sterling will let him walk.
If the Spurs were after Kaman still, and they don't match then I guess he is off the market.
Warriors would have screwed the Spurs again like they did with Maggette.
@ESPNSteinLine: CP3 Trade Latest: Sources say Lakers have pulled out of three-team trade for Chris Paul.
@ESPNSteinLine: Sources say Lakers will instead trade Lamar Odom to Dallas into Mavericks' new trade exception.
This has to be a prelude to a Howard trade.
