Odom and Dirk on the same team? If McDyess retires, the Spurs will have no shot of defending either one. Even if he comes back, that's still probably true.
Damn. The Lakers are going to end up with Howard.
Nice move for the Mavs too.

Yuck. I can imagine Pop throwing Bonner and Blair out there against Dirk and Odom and the Mavs will go on a 27-0 run.
Yeah.. and that would still be the least of the Spurs concerns if the Lakers end up with Howard.. which everyone knows they will.
Maybe the Magic requested Gasol instead of Bynum? I agree with TD 21... the Lakers must have some sort of agreement with the Magic for Howard..
Bynum/Gasol + exception + picks for Howard + Turkoglu
cant wait to c how spurs counter...wait
yeah, you know Dwight is the next move
I think by getting rid of Odom and not taking on any salary all it would take would be one player, not both, between Bynum and Gasol. I hope im wrong on this...
Billups or BDiddy and Lakeshow is set
Well, the new CBA ensures parity, so Spurs don't really have to do anything...
Yeah agree... only way they would give up both is if a third team is involved and the Lakers get a decent PF.
I think Kawhi would be able to cover one of them OK, but those 2 guys playing together is dangerous.
Wait for what? The next Spurs are interested in guy who doesn't come here or gets traded somewhere else? Thats what you will wait for![]()
Can't wait to see TJ Ford guarding Odom, tbh...
im just ting myself at the thought of Howard-Gasol-Kobe... they would even run a train through the Heat.
yeah its like la almost fcked themselves then come out ahead if they can keep pau and howard together
Yep, they're definitely getting one of Billups or Davis on the cheap and they're definitely not giving up Gasol. I'm sure they'll get away with Bynum and either some meaningless future 1st or some combination of their pseudo prospects, Ebanks, Caracter and Morris.
If I were one of the big three, I'd snap. Don't give me this "what did you want them to do?" nonsense. The Celtics found a way to acquire West, the Knicks Chandler, the Mavs Odom and soon the Lakers Howard. The first three, at least, were completely unexpected. No one was expecting something of that magnitude, but nothing? The big rotation has been in shambles in recent years and they do nothing to improve it. Not even to make the pieces fit better. Inexplicable. They've turned the situation with Jefferson into a fiasco/circus. They almost have to amnesty him at this point, but probably won't, given the limited options at their disposal and their inability to pull off a trade that involves an ounce of creativity. What a total disaster.
If this was their plan, they may has well have just commenced with a full on re-build. What a waste of a season. You think deep down the big three thinks they have a chance to contend? Not a chance. They're watching the rich get richer and all they have to show for it is Ford and eventually, some big off the scrap heap.
sadly yes
These last few years have been really depressing to say the least! Waste of Tims last few years and this year is no different. Trot out the same bullshyt as last year, you get the same result minus the 61 misleading wins.
This is flat out depressing, no shot at all to contend and we all know it from the players on down.
Anybody surprised MJ, Dan Gilbert, Allen, Holt not even sniffing any of the top FAs?
Can't pair a trade exception with a player IIRC. Can someone validate that?
Lakers would need to absorb Turkoglu probably, so he would cover for Odom.
Disgusting.
This league is totally ed. I thought the new CBA was meant to prevent like this from happening all the time![]()
