Trading them would be rebuilding.
Being as though our team has been in dying need of a legitimate front man next to timmy for the past few years and nothing has been done to address it (well not NOTHING, we did resign bonner/drafted 6'7 blair, signed 45 yrd old dice and brought over young Splitter but didn't play him), I think this year is really gut check time...What our magnificent FO is failing/failed to realize is that with Timmy on the downside of his career, no player wants to come to this city to play for us. Free agent signings for the FO should be last on their priority list because this city is compared to everywhere else...Duncan is not in his prime anymore and only washed up vets want 2 come here. How can the FO not know that NOBODY wants to come to San Antonio if they had a choice (Free Agency). We need to TRADE for what we want and need..simple as that...The only way we can do it is by trading away one of our little 3 not named Duncan..Parker we can get the most value for and Manu can help match salaries if traded.....this year alone Chandler, West, Nene, Kaman, DeAndre Jordan, Bass, Odom, Scola, Pau, Marc Gasol,Bynum..ALL came up in trades, trade rumors & signings..so the question is...are u guys willing to trade one of them for one last run OR stay as is and hope to rebuild??

Trading them would be rebuilding.
Rebuilding is not logical while Duncan is in the field.
Trading Manu would be the stupidest thing this franchise could do.
I don't agree with that...None of these guys are all stars anymore, not even timmy. If parker gets dealt then we will still have Neal, TJ Ford, Corey Joseph to just facilitate plus we'd keep Manu. If Manu is dealt then Anderson would more than likely start backed up by Green plus we'd still have Parker. Not to mention if it's a trade u never know what players you'll get back...
You really discount loyalty, IMHO Manu will and should retire a Spur! I'd much rather watch the big three ride it to the wheels fall off, then start all over when they retire.
I respect that...i feel the same way about Duncan but only Duncan. I'd trade TP or Manu away in a heartbeat to get someone next to Timmy. I think it would help us contend with all the youth & size these teams are having, if we keep the same big 3 then it's playoff exit after playoff exit
You wouldn't get equal value for sure (definitely not on Manu), but it's the right thing to do unless the team can somehow get a really good defensive 4/5 in trade.
If we traded Manu I'd quite possibly stop supporting the Spurs.
lol
trading manu for a young stud and couple of low draft picks would be smart if you do not think you can win a le this year
and trading duncan for young stud and draft picks would be wise also
spurs will be to class to duncan and keep him but when he retires they lose him for nothing
getting something for him is beter then letting him retire for nothing
that is because you are not a spur fan you are only a manu fan
true to an extent. I'd come back to the Spurs once Manu retired.
So you can imagine how trading Tim or Manu could help the team, but you can't contemplate how the Spurs could improve by trading Tony?
In think folks would be surprised how much ticket sales would plummet were Manu traded for "a really good defensive 4/5."
I believe history has taught us no one is lining up to come to SA, F/A or via trade (can we keep them for the long run). Best option for us is to ride this era out and start again via draft.
between tony and manu, who attracts fans to the arena????---not Tony.
bad move economically to trade Manu.
Ask again the first week in March.
So your putting Ford and Joseph on the same level as TP? I'm not his biggest fan either, but ford, joseph and neal could not replace half of what parker brings.
Stop melting down because we have not signed anyone...the fo is going to do something and after that "something", we will know what stage the team is in.
If only Tony Parker had a ragin' cajun accent...maybe he could've been the centerpiece to grab CP3. New Orleans needs someone to help sell tickets...right?
If the accent is all they wanted, they should've hired Avery Johnson to coach the team.
So you are a Manu fan and not a Spur fan.
That depends on your goals.
Is it better to let Tim ride out tens of millions because he's a great player than to put young bigs with him and allow him to teach them the game of basketball?
Sorry, as much as I like Tim Duncan, he's still not bigger than the team.
Winning attracts fans. If the Spurs deal anyone and get back some young talent that wins fans will come.
Rascal posting in a trade Manu thread? Never heard of such.
Trading Manu is rebuilding because his value to this team is greater than what he'd bring in return. Trading Parker wouldn't necessarily signal rebuilding, but it would largely depend on the return.
Having said that, I think Parker gets this season to prove whether or not he is the "go-to" guy.
