    With the moves they're going to need to make they'll get more out of Artest as a trade commodity...but, if he goes south they can then amnesty him and get him off property.

    Exactly. World Peace is tradeable (LOL at some of the idioms that can be created with that moniker) but Luke Walton wouldn't even go for a late 2nd rounder, even if you could find a team to stomach his contract. I guess he might be worth something as an expiring next year, though, but that's a lot of cash to sit on for a trade chip 12+ months from now.

    It's the not the money they're after. It's neglible on their books. That amnesty is their ticket out of Artest if he reverts to type.
