There are 3 categories of bigs on the market:

    1. Bigs that aren't really big
    2. Bigs that we don't want
    3. Bigs that we can't afford

we need to trade for a big.. there is no one on the market. In order to trade for a big, we would have to give up parker, which leaves us no PG. Our only trade piece for a big is manu because we are deep at the 2. However, we all know we aint trading Manu. San Antonio (including me) would rather go down with the team we have than trade Manu for a decent big and still go down.

Isn't Samuel Dalembert still out there for grabs? Haven't heard any mention of him in the forum....

Dalembert is dumb as a bag of rocks. That's not just exaggeration, because I don't like him or something. Yes, he's very athletic. Seriously low basketball IQ, to say the least.

Dalembert would be awesome. And is way out of our reach.

Biedrins would actually be a realistic choice, either through trade or amnesty. If the Warriors get DeAndre Jordan, they might well trade RJ's contract for Biedrins.

Hey whatever it takes dude. I remember not long ago when Manu was actually on the trading block, then he finally pulled his head out of his ass. I'm all for being committed to an organization or an individual, but biz is biz. You give me a super athletic big who can defend, rebound, block shots, and provide descent ppg......bye bye Gino. Our lacking of an alternate descent big cost us dearly last season bro.

I think you have to be under the cap to bid on an amnesty drop. Seems stupid that the Spurs are going to wait until the last minute to amnesty RJ and then they're going to get no monetary relief on his salary and there will be nobody to offer the MLE to by that point.

Yep. Teams under the cap can bid for amnestied players.

And for those wishing for Dalembert - remember Drew Gooden? How much playing time do you think another low-BB-IQ is going to get under Pop? Why spend any money on a guy you know isn't going to be on the court?

With Duncan, McDyess, Bonner, Blair and Splitter, we have 5 biggs and with Leonard there is the ability to play some smallball.

    We are fine inside!

Wait! That is ST-suicide I'm doing here....Even I would bash myself for these comments.

On paper, it would seem like we have the front-line filled.

All it takes it re-watching the Memphis series to realize that is far from the truth.

If the Spurs seriously come back with the same 5 bigs for next season, I will have lost all faith in the front office.

i don't think the Spurs would wasting there time signing bigs like Haddidi or Pryzbilla, 1st of all they are even less mobile than T. Duncan, that itself would be a bad combination. I don't really see either of them being better than what we already have on the roster, which is not a lot. one guy that i haven't heard of at all in the free agency is K. Humphries, i think he can be had at a fair price, maybe a S&T: A. McDyess plus Draft Pick for K. Humprhies at about the full MLE range.

I would only like one thing more than Humphries on the Spurs:

Humphries playing with Lamar Kardashian in DAL!

Wow did not know he was that good defensively. Might not be a bad replacement for Dice if he's willing to accept MLE.
