Kirilenko would be an interesting guy for the Lakers. Even though he's older, I think Antawn Jamison could be a nice back-up forward for the Lakers. I wonder if Cleveland waives him. Can score, handle the rock, rebound a little bit, play either forward spot.

Lamar was gone after last year no matter what. The Laker organization had enough of the Kardashian cows tossing thier weight around with the show, demanding tickets, and of course the fued with Mrs. Bryant. He was gone and then acting like a petulant child when the trade was ridiculously voided by Stern only hastened it.
The Lakers, Jerry Buss to be exact, wanted the triangle gone the day after he hired Phil the FIRST TIME much less the second. He has wanted to go back to showtime fast break basketball for over a decade. Now, with the ages of Pau, Odom, Artest, Fish, and Kobe and the taking over of the team by Jimmy, was the time to make the move. They have value ans there were some good players available to make it happen. Then Stern jumped in cause he, Gilbert, and some of the other owners could not fathom those two (CP3 & Dwight) dictating where they wanted to go and of course... the jealosy that the entire league and himself over the Lakers sucess despite how much they try to intefere.
And they are going to do it again. No worries Cully, Kool, Luva etc... This is making for a beautiful US against the world scenario for our boys.

cobbler, the point is that you criticize ChrisRichards for doing the exact same stuff Koolaid_Man does (only CR does it on a smaller scale). As long as it's a Lakers fan who's acting an ass, you don't seem to have a problem with it

Tbh, I think this off season, people aren't really hating the Lakers as much as they're just laughing at them. Laughing at the CP3 trade debacle. Laughing at trading Odom for nothing to the team that swept them in the playoffs last season. Laughing at their Mr. Potatohead coach. Laughing because it's likely they won't swing a Dwight Howard deal. Laughing because Metta World Peace is Metta World Fat.

So Odom gets traded and Lakers fans say he was worthless, even though he helped the Lakers get back to back championships. Now the Lakers think AK47 is the answer?

The laughter and amusement is based in laker hate and jealousy. I am perfectly fine with the coaching choice and direction the team is going. I look forward to the fast breaking team they are working to make. The CP3 and Odom debacles are a direct result of Stern overstepping his bounds and we all know it. The Laker were positioning themselves for another great haul and they just couldn't let that happen. Had this happened to any other team it would all be about Stern and the conspiricy. It's only funny to you, cause its the Lakers.
