I guess it depends on how you look at it. The lakers/rockets deal definitely gave them a strong team for the upcoming season.

But the clipper deal is definitely better for the long haul. Kaman will expire away, Gordon is a fantastic prospect to have and Dwight lookalike is whatever. They'll suck this year but they'll have 2 high draft picks in one of deeper drafts in recent years. On top of that they keep their salary low.. I would definitely take this deal over the lakers one from the perspective of someone who works for the hornets management or a potential buyer.

As a basketball fan obvious CP3 on the lakers would have been better though..

Darko was a high draft pick as well you don't win les through the draft these days...learn something

Stern did us favor...I was totally not expecting CP3 anyway...that would have just been icing on the cake. As far as I'm concerned there's no team out West I see getting past us...Can you legitimately pick a team to beat LA in the west...no you can't

    Lets see.....
Dallas - just swept ya last year, and added your 3rd best player
OKC - younger and better than the Lakers

Wow, huge trade for the Hornets. A likely top 5 pick in the most stacked draft in years, an A-level guard prospect, and a decent SF prospect. The Hornets are lucky as they had Stern negotiating for them. He got as much as they could possibly hope to get in exchange. LOL Clippers.

Not really. The Laker/Houston trade made them much more compe ive today. The Clippers trade has the POSSIBILITY to be stronger years from now.
    Cobble WRONG about det deal.

    DPG right about det deal.

You've got no room for the rest of the year and this is why I'm the REGULATOR.

I think both teams made off well in this trade. But seriously though, Chris Paul with Blake Griffin? That is gunna be a very, very dangerous duo...
Very true which is why I called it. Deal made too much sense not to happen. Clippers finally made a splash and gave themselves a legit chance to move forward. They also all over the Lakers by swooping up the guy the Lakers DESPERATELY wanted which has happened exactly 0 times before.

hey loser what are you jerking off about...you didn't reveal that wasn't being discussed in the basketball world...the LA/Hou/NO trade makes them play-off ready now...this trade only gives them possibility...what am I missing here...Cobbler was right and Cully never wanted Cp3 or Dwight so what are you masturbating so strong for

Yeah, Its premature to put the Clippers over the Lakers right now. The Clippers are going to be fun to watch, but as of right now the Cips have no one who has an outside shot. The Clips just shipped that guy to New Orleans (Gordon).

Not to mention Blake/Cp3 will draw another key player in future like howard

I didn't think the Clippers would be stupid enough to include Gordon. The Hornets were going to lose him outright to the Clippers in the summer. This trade makes no sense for them.

So you saying CP3 and Blake gets past Kobe, Pau, and Bynum... last I checked

    Kobe > CP3
    Pau > Blake
Bynum has no one to check him

Why? Even with Gordon included, the kept Bledsoe and landed Paul. To give up the pick was crucial, but basketball wise losing Aminu/Gordon is well worth it to get Paul in LAC from every perspective (ticket sales, shot to win in the playoffs...)

They might have slightly over paid, but it's worth it to land Paul for 2 years guaranteed IMO. Him getting to FA could really have hurt their chances to land him.
