So a lot of people owe Stern and myself an apology.

    Stern > Kupchak
    I apologize!

I actually thought you had a little upstairs. I now realize you are a complete idiot. So yeah, I apologize for talking over your head all these years.

The trade is a good trade. To say its better than the Laker/Houston trade is absurdity at best. It POTENTIALLY could be slightly better. It potentially could be a lot lot worse.

    See Blazers...

That deal is even better than the lakers and rockets one -_-

Interesting that they gave up Eric Gordon.. would have thought he was untouchable for them.
he was at a clippers event when the deal came down. Tells you how much they thought of him.

The Lakers/Houston wouldn't have potentially gave the Hornets a lottery pick. Would it? That to me was one of the biggest parts of the Clippers trade. The Houston/Lakers would have made the Hornets 8th seed compe ive tho, your right.

Draft picks are potential. They can go either way regardless of how high. One only has to look at the Blazers to know this.

So what does Stern do now? Turn the team over to the very guys that he lied about last year to mold it for the future owner? Hmmmm...

I never wanted CP3 anyway so this doesnt bother me in the least with regards to our team. It does bother me that Stern lied, overstepped his bounds, and put a big ole black eye on the NBA. He completely tarnished whatever was left of his legacy.

It's a good trade. I belive the Lakers/Houston trade was better as it had PROVEN players. Not prospects and projects.

Why? Even with Gordon included, the kept Bledsoe and landed Paul. To give up the pick was crucial, but basketball wise losing Aminu/Gordon is well worth it to get Paul in LAC from every perspective (ticket sales, shot to win in the playoffs...)

They might have slightly over paid, but it's worth it to land Paul for 2 years guaranteed IMO. Him getting to FA could really have hurt their chances to land him.
Who else was he going to go to? Big market + future MVP to throw alley-oops to + young star SG + high-ceiling athletic center + top 5 pick would have been an enormous draw for Paul with the Knicks and Lakers out of the picture. There was no other team who was going to match the Clippers proposal without Gordon; they were so stupid to give up as much as they did.

I read your OP and I think its re ed. I dont care about the hornets winning a le. It doesnt ing matter if they win a championship now or in 10 years, because their goal is to sell the team. Besides I'm not concerned about their le hopes and its safe to say you aren't either.

My point is that this is a better deal from point of view of the hornets ownership/management. They get a young player with star potential and they get high draft picks. Their team is much easier to sell and they get 2 high draft picks (since the hornets are going to suck too).

    LoL Lakerfans

The Pau deal was fair because it gave them young prospects.
    The Lakers deal> Clippers deal
    Don't agree.

They come away with a top 5 pick and Eric Gordon.

In the Lakers deal, they were getting a similar package to what the Nuggets got. Late draft picks and plenty of players that will range from good to average.

Eric Gordon is better than any player (now or the future) the Hornets would have gotten in the 3-way HOU/LA deal and the bloated contract they took (Kaman) is only one year instead of two (Martin). This trade is so much better for the Hornets than the other one.

you're clueless as is typical Spur fan...they get 1 first round pick...the others are in the 2nd round...this is basically a Paul for Gordon swap...those extra picks aren't worth ...only real basketball fans can reason as such...you guys are so high on this because you know what they draft can do for those that tank

The bottom line is you dont trade your star player for a lump of aging veterans in hopes of making the 8th seed of the playoffs. That is bad business either way you look at it. There is small hope in the present and no hope in the future. The Hornets are in a better position now then they were yesterday.

I disagree. There would be other teams in play. Gordon was about to get paid as well, and with them bringing on a max guy like CP3, having to pay Griffin, just paying Jordan, they would be in a bind. I think you over estimate Paul's affinity for the Clips at the moment. There was a reason he fought going there so hard, but then relented.

I think that with the uncertainty, they made the right move. Besides Gordon/Pick, they didn't give up too much IMO and IMO CP3 is easily worth Gordon/Pick to pretty much guarantee playoffs and having a solid young core.

Kaman was gone anyways and maybe would have gotten them a draft pick. Aminu, I'm not THAT high on him, but he's a decent prospect. So again, Gordon/Pick for CP3 is a pretty damn good deal IMO.

Except the Nuggets players weren't old like the players NO was getting.
