NO got out good with this one. Any superstar who has the potential to disappear for entire quarters is overrated. Chris Paul does exactly that. And it doesn't help that he has a ed up, only-child at ude.

Chris Kaman was traded to the Hornets on Wednesday and could end up starting at power forward.

Emeka Okafor is still around and it's also possible that Okafor could play PF and Kaman start at C. Either way, both bigs are likely to start and get excellent minutes this season.

Scola, Martin, Dragic and Odom for nothing would be an unfair deal. Scola, Martin and Dragic are all overpaid. Odom, as we saw from the Mav trade, had neutral value. That would have been the worst trade for a superstar of all-time. You take those four only if you have a superstar or two and you need complementary players -- not when you are rebuilding.

This deal is much better. Aminu looks like a possible bust but Gordon and that pick is easily the best the Hornets were going to get.

Will be interesting to see how Blake/Paul play together.
Remember all those ally oops that Paul threw to Chandler against the Spurs in the playoffs? Get ready for a full season of that.

Very true and that isn't even considering the pick NO can get on their own if they struggle, which is likely. Stern did an amazing job and all over everyone who mocked his "basketball reasons". NO fans should be grateful Stern didn't let dummy Demps do something horrifically stupid. Demps should be fired for making that LAL deal IMO.
Yeah, the Hornets will be setup nicely; they're going to be bad enough that they could land a second top-5 pick counting their own. A core of Anthony Davis / Harrison Barnes / Eric Gordon would be a great place to rebuild from. If the BYC rules aren't too bad (I forgot what they are in the new CBA) they may even be able to sucker a team like the Spurs into giving up a mid-to-late first for Kaman's expiring too. Maybe land an Austin Rivers or a John Henson.

Yeah that's what I mean, Chandler was an athletic freak but Blake is on another level. Clippers games are gonna be damn fun this year.

This was a very good deal for both teams IMO. It made sense, helped LAC make a big time splash in the face of the Lakers and got them a truly legit superstar who is a beast in the playoffs. Paul is a gamer no matter how much people talk about him. The Clips gave up a good amount, but from a basketball perspective, Kaman/Aminu weren't doing much for them in the position they were in. The only real impactful basketball guy they gave up was Gordon. They added Paul/Butler/Billups while giving up Gordon from an impact perspective (maybe Kaman you could argue). That's a win.

It's a huge win for NO as well because Gordon is a cheap really talented player. They got an amazing draft pick and even if you don't like Aminu, he is a low risk high upside gamble and Kaman is worth more to NO than LAC and can be flipped again for a young prospect and pick.

I wish the Lakers would have landed CP3, personally. Splitting possessions with Kobe is easier to defend than CP3 throwing lobs to two of the five most athletic bigs in the NBA. That's going to be disgusting.

A blind monkey could throw lobs to Blake. Dude is going to go up and get the ball no matter what.

Yes, you also mention Darko. Wade was picked in the same draft and has won a le. Are you in re ed or something?

there's always exceptions to the rule...by and large you don't win les through the draft...not unless you have a 10 yr plan

You give me one reason that Paul would want to play for the worst franchise is sports.
Because it was one of three teams he would accept a trade to?

You seem to have it figured out. You give me one reason that Paul would want to play for the worst franchise is sports. Not to mention that Blake will most likely go home to play with Durant in two years.
Winning Donald Sterling a championship should be a deadly sin but apparently CP3 doesn't like black tenants either because the Clippers were his third choice.

If there are exceptions to your rules than why are you calling people idiots who are presenting you with facts? I mean I understand not every Spur fan has even common sense but come on now.

He's also got DeAndre Jordan to throws that ally oops to as well, who is also probably just as athletic as Chandler was. This could be quite dangerous for opposing teams.

You know Kobe was picked up by the Lakers on DRAFT day, he was ultimately the reason you guys won your last 2 rings. Unless your trying to say ROOKIES dont make an immediate impact and win championships, I can't agree that you don't when les through the draft.

this was a long overdue moment for clipper fans. they have been ridiculed by laker fans for so long and by the rest of the league as the lakers' re ed younger brother. clippers aren't clear of their curse yet as they have to stay healthy. knowing the clippers' history, it's likely either paul or griffin will go down this season.
