Maybe it should be since you're the Dutch pot criticizing the American kettle.
Pot calling kettle black doesn't take away from the kettle being black.

I didn't say anything abut color. In fact, I pointed out his fear about American intentions was a reality in The Netherlands so, in that respect, I'd say his pot is a much darker shade in the grayscale than America's.

Which still does nothing to discredit his post.

I'm clearly American, and the post was clearly a copy/paste. Another fail by you.

I'm honestly seriously considering moving abroad though the way things are turning to complete in this country. Better get out before the government closes the borders under the guise of "stopping terrorism".

    How so?

Opening post with a subject line "Views on America from an outsider?"

I'm honestly seriously considering moving abroad though the way things are turning to complete in this country. Better get out before the government closes the borders under the guise of "stopping terrorism".
    Good luck.

Nor does it validate his post. It merely makes him a that regurgitates anti-American talking points under the guise of being forwarded by an enlightened Dutch person.

On the one point, (and to be sure, similar arguments could be made about the rest of the points in the post -- because they've been argued ad nauseum in this forum), but, on the point of censorship, the Dutch clearly practice it while America does not.

When it happens, we can talk.

^ if you admit it doesn't discredit nor validates it, why are you posting?

Who's deflecting. Every one of those points has been argued in this forum...I was merely pointing out the irony of preaching on censorship from a Dutch perspective.

Because, nearly every point is wrong or grossly exaggerated. I felt compelled to respond.

You really showed him... especially the part where you really couldn't come up with any arguments to discredit the post.

But you already admitted you can't discredit the post. So you were wrong then or you are wrong now. Pick a lane and try to stick to it.

And yet you didn't respond on those grounds and instead choose to respond with something that neither credits or discredits the issues. That's effective.

you can't discredit the original post so you make re ed statements that don't apply to the topic at hand at all.

Yup, because I find problems with the government and don't particularly agree with the current practices in Washington, and want people to realize it and try to change things for the better, I'm anti-American. .

Another epic fail by Yoni. Because the Dutch aren't flawless, they have no right to criticize alleged American flaws!

Because it was a litany of garbage that has been argued to death in this forum and, I thought it was ironic that someone in a land that practices censorship would be concerned with one that doesn't.

Our first amendment rights have been under assault for quite some time. It's nothing new. So far, the Cons ution has prevailed. I expect it will again.

Except the list you vomited in here is not even close to be an accurate representation of what's going on in America.

I'm currently in the Netherlands, and they generally do not give a about America tbqh - although they don't like how their government always seems to want to please America. Like the rest of Europe, they think we're selfish, fat, and don't value education or healthcare...that's not something you can blame on Obama or Bush or anyone else because that's on us. It's not exactly inaccurate - we've really let ourselves down. The Dutch mostly stay true to the whole "do whatever you want, just don't let it affect me"...but that doesn't mean they don't laugh at our Treasury Sec when he's on Dutch TV saying he has faith the Euro Plan will work - cuz we've got no room to comment on their just like we wouldn't like them commenting on our . But we do comment, and they comment too, so it's whatever - let's just enjoy a kroket and a Heineken and call it squared.

As ty as a lot of things in this country are, I don't think I could stomach the thought of not being able to go to all the great national parks west of the Pecos nor see NBA games, so I'll go down with the ship here in the USA.

Heineken is one tough beer to enjoy tbh. Priced like a good beer, I guess to support their advertising budget?

I don't know what the numbers are but, it's probably because we "invest" a lot of money in The Netherlands.

I just don't understand justifying spending trillions on wars but being so opposed to healthcare for your own ing citizens.

Imperialism broke the English, Dutch, and Germans. Imperialism(Afghanistan in particular) broke the Russians. It is going to break us too.
