I know people have installed 64GB sd cards in S2s successfully. I bought a 32GB class 4 as they're actually better for random access/read/write speeds than class 10 cards.
dunno the max sd card mem the sg2 can hold, but ive seen ppl buy sd cards class-10 which are the expensive ones just to play blue ray files on their phones...

im thinkn of jumpin the gun and gettin one...
if you have had struggles with battery life with the GS2, I think it may have something to do with TouchWiz UI. I recently started using ADW Launcher, and my battery life has been MUCH better ever since. I've been using the ICS theme.
I have even had the brightness level higher, just to test, and my battery life is still considerably better.
It's a combination of TouchWiz and unoptimized Samsung programs they instal on Android. Currently I'm using a ROM with a custom touchwiz and an optimized kernel, and I still have 50% battery life right now (charged last 13 hours ago).
The TouchWiz add on for ICS for the galaxy SII looks HORRENDOUS, Jesus. I really hope this alpha leak is bull . Google really needs to tighten up their .
that's counter to the Android philosophy, no?
Of course, their goal is to be on as most devices as possible. I like that they don't have an iron grip on the sotware, but they need to strike a balance. Unfortunately no mobile OS at the moment has found that perfect balance. Luckily if you're someone who likes to customize your phone, you can strike that balance yourself with Android.
Cot damn I'm running a custom kernel (Siyah 2.5.1) with a ondemand CPU profile (throttles down to 200Mhz when phone is asleep). I have 52% battery left and I took my phone off the charger at 6:30AM (it's 9:45PM).
I have been running Warm 2.3 Rls1 on my evo 3d for about a week now and I am at 40% with and took it off of the charger about 11 and a half hours ago. There is a kernel (anthrax) that everyone on the e3d forums is talking about and extended battery life is one of its benefits, but I can't seem to make myself do it. I have a pretty sweet setup right now and am pretty satisfied. My worst day since switching to this ROM has been 12.5 hours, but that was with a fair amount of gaming.
You'll have to show me what that's all about. I'm afraid to f-up my phone.
not a problem, it is pretty painless. You have a E3d?
edit: I forgot to add to my post above that I almost always have WiMax on 100% of the time (I have today).
Yeah that's pretty decent. Personally all I've done on my phone today was make 3-4 phone calls, surf the web and FB/Twitter/Linkedin.
But really, all I'm waiting for is a stable release CM9, which I know will take some time when the coders get a hold of a better leak.
For my phone I am fine with GB for now. Do I want ICS? Absolutely, but I am not feening for it. On my TP however, I would really appreciate it so that I can take advantage of "honeycomb" apps (tablet specific). The first one that I will DL is the asus supernote app. Best looking app that I have seen and absolutely everything I could ask for in a note taking app.
Well , my 4 hit the ground face down and for the first time the case didn't help (it has raised edges) and it cracked. I guess it's a 4s for me, and I get this one repaired and reimbursed through USAA's damage protection on World Mastercards and I either sell it to my brother cheap (so he can facetime with my daughter, he has a 3gs) or hack it with the new untethered hack and sell it for $250. I had dropped it the same way plenty of times before, guess it just gave out. Served me well for 18 months.
Aw
You'll get useless Siri I guess![]()
but I thought Siri was the next Apple home run?

I think that he was being sarcastic.
lefty is a fanboy. You know damn well all the fanboys actually believed Siri was gonna revolutionize the way you interact with your phone
Beta version
Siri is pretty damn sweet, especially for stuff like setting alarms, sending texts, and notes/reminders but damn does it drain the ing battery esp with location services on.
It really sucks for android that google isn't advertising these features. It has been out forever and just today at work a girl saw a SIRI commercial, said "I can't wait to get that phone so I can do that", I said "yeah, its been on my Android phone for a year and a half, it's great!". She said "not on my evo". So I asked for her phone, asked her what the name of one of her friends was then held down the search button and as soon as it popped up said "send text to wayne when are we getting together" sure enough the window popped up exactly like I said it and asked "send"? She says "I have owned this phone since it first came out and had no clue."
All of that to say, I agree with you. A voice commanded interface is great on a phone.
Wish I could use voice go operate google music.
Oh, I don't know if anyone has seen this, but the newest version of swype has replaced the microphone button with the Nuance logo. Real time Dragon dictation is now embedded into that keyboard.
This isn't a perfect solution but you can say "Play I am I" (this is a Queensryche song) and it will first ask you to select which app to use (I checked default and selected google music) then it will bring up the google music app and go to I am I, but then you have to press it for it to play
Running CM9 experimental build on my S2, it's pretty good. Almost everything works except video recording and some issues with MTP. Also ICS animations/transitions aren't as silky smooth as they'll probably be on the final build.
