My thoughts on Chris Paul winning the MVP aren't based on a preseason game. Dude was MVP material in NO. Its based on his abilities and the talent around him that can take advantage of those abilities. He no doubt will be the holder of the keys to that Clipper Ferrari.
I mean he's the only that gets trolled by tiny.
After The Collapse in 2006, I didn't think Dallas would ever be in that position again. The Mavs proved me wrong. happens.
I thought trolling was supposed to get out a reaction of some sorts? I'm just mocking him.![]()
That's why my prediction hinges on the health of Baron Davis. If he can be healthy come playoff time, he'll be motivated by the fact that he's playing for a contender.
As for Chandler, the fact that he adds a defensive post presence and allows Amare to play his more natural power forward role will be huge for New York.
If you're le hopes rest on Baron Davis then I don't think you'll get very far.
They'll rest on Melo and Amare. Davis will be a the 3rd or 4th option (have to see how Landry Fields progresses). Combine that with how wide open the East is (I think it's Miami and Chicago, then Boston, NY and Orlando (if Howard stays) in that 2nd tier). I'm not saying NY should be the favorite in the east by any means. I'm simply saying that I think they could beat any given eastern team in a 7-game series if Davis stays healthy.
Aren't there like 3 or 4 season prediction threads out already? Do we get to make contradictory predictions and cherry pick later?
My ass.

Again, based on recent data ... I don't know 30 years of data... The MVP has come from a team that is top 2 in in it's conference. Being that Clips are the little brothers ...I would be happy to see them get an MVP or a #2 seed, but I dont see either happening this year. Im not saying he is not capable of a Nash like season because there are some things about his game especially on defense ...that are superior to Nash's game. (I do think Nash is the better shooter though) and he won backtoback MVP's. I just dont think the Clips will have that kind of "record" so I think he can finish as high as 2 or 3 but he won't win.
I maybe wrong ... but I doubt it. But we shall see ...

Don't know if you're serious about Splitter or not.
Not a bad list here are my expectations for Lebron or Im permannently off the "witness list"
1. Top 3 MVP finish
2. Repeat trip to the finals with a win this time ...
3. At least 2nd in Finals MVP voting
4. Heat with HCA throughout playoffs ...
5. A lebron momement a dunk on someone (Chandler, Howard) in the playoffs so fierce it surpasses the "with no regard for human life" dunk on Boston and also Kobe on Okafor or Wade on Verejao ...
If he does those things unlike some I forgive all of the rest ...
I don't Like Lebron as much as I did in his frist finals run, but it WOULD be a shame if he NEVER fully realizes his tremendous potential ...
I copy&pasted that from another prediction thread we had a while back. I guess at the time I was hoping he would get a lot more playing time then last year. Now with only 4 bigs I know he is going to get a lot of playing time. He's only in his second year(which means growth and keeps in the running for such award) and if we do well he will get recognized. I'll just stand pat with that prediction because now more than ever I believe it could happen.
And I think OKC's James Harden will win 6MOY.
Knicks will have at least one more disappointing season before they live up to their potential. They need a real coach before they go anywhere.
Heat over Mavs in the rubbermatch...LBJ MVP
tbh if the Mavs get Dalembert I think they will repeat as WC champs
If not, I have a hard time thinking they'll be able to keep the athletic teams like the Thunder, Grizzlies, or even Portland out of the paint. They'll be back to their old ways imo
